Given Gunn's penchant for the more off the wall superheroes that wouldn't be surprising.
Just get us to LoSH, Gunn, that's all I ask (I mean we got Arm Fall Off boy and a mention of Matter Eater Lad so there's that)

First "villain" cast
https://deadline.com/2023/11/superma...le-1235612761/
Seems like we've come full circle. "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way" or Superman vs. the Elite had a newly made up group of "villains" that were basically thinly disguised homages to Wildstorm's The Authority, and now we're getting Superman vs. the Authority (apparently)

They're originally from the Wildstorm imprint, where they are more direct in their interventions (compared to the Justice League) and handle increasingly larger and more abstract threats. But they'll also just like, overthrow a government they feel is bad.
From meta standpoint, they were a modernized (in terms of powers and personalities) superhero team that also pioneered a "cinematic" aproach to the medium/genre. They also had, I believe, the first mainstream gay relationship in superhero comics. Those characters were expies of Batman and Superman. The team in general was very diverse, so that's going to be... we'll see how audiences react to Superman fighting a direct-action, mostly POC team.

I appreciate that.

Re: Superman: Legacy (2025, D: Gunn)
So the reports from back in May turned out to be true.
https://deadline.com/2023/11/nichola...er-1235630393/
EXCLUSIVE: We hear that James Gunn has found his Lex Luthor in British actor Nicholas Hoult, several sources tell us.
A movie star was always eyed for this role after Gunn selected fresh face David Corenswet in the title role, and Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.
The studio wanted to go through the casting process after the SAG-AFTRA strike of landing an actor to play Luther. Warners is already in business with Hoult on Clint Eastwood’s Juror No. 2. Hoult also starred in the 2015 Warner Bros. blockbuster, Mad Max Fury Road which made over $380M at the global box office.

Are there only 10 actors in Hollywood?

In the minority, but I liked JE in the role.
However, I don't think Hoult will play the role quirky.

Hoult is a fine, albeit safe, choice for Lex.
If he shaves his head bald for the role I just want him to yell “witness me!” at some point.

It was reported back in May that he was front runner for Lex. Later reports said he was screen testing but maybe some of those reported details were mixed up. Apparently, a deal couldn't get together before the strike, so there were some other names in contention for Lex as well.

That's an issue with the director, though. He needed to just say "Stop. Just play Mark Zuckerberg." Casting an actor renowned for embodying the idea of a modern, tech-driven mega-billionaire and then having him not bring any of that to the performance was one of the most baffling decisions with that film.
