Re: Superman: Legacy (2025, D: Gunn)

I know with an actors strike looming this week, WB didn't want to gamble and schedule a DC Hall H at Comic Con. But, it would have been a great opportunity to create a lot of buzz for this.

He'll be fine. He's got a good base already and likely will just need more hypertrophy-oriented weightlifting integrated into his routine. I think he'd be fine to suit up now, but 3 days/week focused on compound movements in ideal hypertrophy ranges and adequate macro intake and he'll put on a lot of lean mass. He can do it easy, without juicing himself up to the gills, like Hemsworth, Johnson, et cetera

Re: Superman: Legacy (2025, D: Gunn)

I saw this early picture of Henry Cavill when he costume tested for Superman Returns. He was hardly the buff stud that he is now.

Wow, kudos for Cavill for going to MCU camp apparently.

Re: Superman: Legacy (2025, D: Gunn)

I just hope Gunn can make these films fun again. It is about a guy with a cape flying around stopping bad guys. If I want depressing I own The Deer Hunter and One Flew Over The Cukoos Nest.

Absolutely. Second though, I don't need Superman or the tertiary characters to be weird and quirky like Guardians or Suicide Squad. Gunn needs to leave the overt Gunn-ness at home for Superman. Like you said, it's a dude in a cape flying around stopping bad guys. It's a simple formula.

That looks like a Halloween costume that Cavill is in.

Re: Superman: Legacy (2025, D: Gunn)

Superman Legacy, the movie that will mark the live-action rebirth of the DC Universe, has added three new actors to its cast, each of them playing a superhero with a long history in the comic books. Isabela Merced will play Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi will be Mister Terrific and Nathan Fillion will portray a Green Lantern

Ugh. Hope that isn’t going to be the main green lantern they go with in this to start.

Re: Superman: Legacy (2025, D: Gunn)

A younger Fillion would have been a great Hal Jordan (who he voiced) but not sure about Gardner. Merced seems like a good get. When the best you can tell me is that Gathegi was in Twilight and Darwin in First Class, I dunno, I can't place him.

Fillion as Green Lantern feels like years of manifestation coming to fruition.

She's badass as Spider-Girl, but the movie is awful. Not Morbius awful, but it's still not good.

Merced is/was on the verge of stardom on the level of Jenna Ortega. But slowed down a bit... maybe this will help push her forward.

It sounds like he has has. He has a job that would enable that.

I heard someone, a pro Gunn person, worrying about Gunn putting too many heroes in this film but I think he can pull it off. Then again, there can never be too many for my tastes.

There's nothing wrong with putting a lot of heroes into a film, it's how they're used.
