Chicken Run. remember that movie?

Anyone still remember or still watch Chicken Run once in awhile?

"I don't want to be a pie."

Yep. Its sequel, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, is due in 2023.

Remember it, haven't watched it since initial home video release.

I remember seeing it in the theatre and thinking it was alright, but didn't have the magic of the Wallace and Gromit cartoons.

I remember it. Ive never seen it but I remember it.

I like Wallace and Gromit but I can only take Aardman animation in short doses.

I'm sorry, but I'm just going to say it: there are a lot worse people getting hired regularly in Hollywood for big films than Mel Gibson. They just have better PR agents.

Big Aardman fan and rewatched this last year, the first time in many many years. Still watchable.

I am sure there are some assholes out there who get work regularly. Christian Bale, Tom Cruise, Bill Murray, Frank Langella. But people a lot worse than Mel Gibson?

Russell Crowe, Woody Allen, Marc Wahlberg and Ezra Miller, right off the top of my head.

And that makes it OK? Nice “whataboutism” there.

And as far as “a lot worse” that’s subjective. Mel Gibson is a raging antisemite and Holocaust denier. Anyone that willingly gives him a job is just complicit.

So yes, fuck Mel Gibson and anyone that works with him.

Chicken Run came out like five years before all that shit with Gibson went down, right?
I mean, I'm all for criticizing people for working with the guy... especially now... but it's a strange thing to come into thread for a 22 year old G-rated chicken movie to flex that hatred.

And let's not forget that a few years ago, Gibson was fired from a Chicken Run sequel because of his past comments calling Winona Ryder an "oven-dodger".

Re: Chicken Run. remember that movie?

Yeah, the guy is a huge piece of shit.

Is he even involved the the CR sequel coming out next year? Looks like he's not, based on IMDb details

His character would not be necessary in a sequel, the hens did most of the heavy lifting character wise with their different personalities.

Uh Oh the dreaded “whataboutism” came out. Since when can't comparisons be made?

Roman Polanski bigger POS...working or not.

And the movie? My kids hated it so I never saw it more than once. It was OK.

I had to look that up because I had never heard that, and it sounds like he said that to her at a party when he learned she was jewish. Also he apparently said this, in case THAT wasn't enough to dislike him:

At the same industry soiree, Ryder claims Gibson asked her friend, who is gay, “‘Oh, wait, am I gonna get AIDS?’”
Sounds like a fun guy to have at a party.

Love the movie, am interested in a sequel, not a fan of Gibson.
