I sure hope this film is about really awful people having to escape from elaborate traps before they die a gruesome and painful death. Fingers crossed.

What if they change it up and make it about "good" people in elaborate traps. Put the best people through the worst scenario. I'd watch that.

Tickets are now on sale and this opens next week. I’m looking forward to the return of John Kramer.
It’s 118 minutes. The longest theatrical Saw movie. Although 3’s unrated dvd version was 121 minutes.

Apparently this takes place a few weeks after the 1st Saw movie.
But, it's been 19 years since the 1st movie. Tobin Bell has noticeably aged in appearance.

Opens tonight.
Going to try to see it tonight, but if not I will try tomorrow.
I know most here either are not fans of or are completely over this series, so I won't expect much reaction or viewership from here.
But, right now surprisingly it has an 84% on RT

A YouTuber I watch, Cody Leach liked it a lot. He’s not much a fan of the franchise and his channel focuses a lot on horror reviews.

Franchise high reviews for #10 is impressive

The last few Saw movies have been meh to terrible.
Saw X was actually a really entertaining Saw movie. Probably the best since Saw II. And that isn’t hyperbole.
It was entirely from the perspective of John Kramer, which I liked and I thought kept it fresh. And I thought it actually humanized him as well. I was rooting for John to get back at the con artists.
However, it does stretch a little credibility being a prequel since Bell has aged significantly since Saw I. And this takes place weeks after the first movie. But overall it’s a worthy final chapter to the John Kramer Saw saga.
B+ from me.

By the way, there is a post credits scene. It features a cameo from a long running Saw character.
