Accordinging to California law, she's declared legally dead though, at least from the reports I'm reading, her heart is still beating and she has not been removed from life support at the moment as they are still awaiting the organ donation info.
Of course, it's all semantics. Really, she's gone.

She was a decent actress. I remember one of the last things I saw her in from a few years ago, Syfy's one-season wonder Aftermath. Not a great show or anything but she was by far the best things about it.

Used the JustWatch app to see which movies of hers I had access to on streaming. Many options. Decided on Donnie Brasco. She didn't have a big flashy role but she did a solid job.

RIP and clearly she had some mental issues.
I feel sorry for the kids who lost a mom.
I did not know it was her in this movie until maybe 2 or 4 scenes but she looked great in it

I know it’s the 24-7 media ecosystem we live in but there’s something so unseemly about getting play by play reporting of brain death and organ donor status over someone who clearly did not have survivable injuries.
I don’t know what it served to give us every moment of her slow death teased out and I wasn’t even a huge fan, it just seems vaguely grotesque some of the reporting out there the last few days.

What I remember most about her Biography was that it was released right before 9/11, one day she was everywhere selling the book and getting media hype and the next it was completely gone and forgotten.

Surprised to see so few Donnie Brasco mentions, that's far and away her best and most high profile film. (same with Depp, yes I said it!) Sad ending, clearly some mental issues... life is precious, enjoy each day you wake up.

Anne Heche died due to smoke inhalation and thermal injuries according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, People reported today. Her death was officially ruled an accident.
The report cited a “sternal fracture due to blunt trauma” as another “significant condition” contributing to her passing. Heche sustained the injuries when her car jumped a curb and careened into a house in West L.A. last week, where it burst into flames. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
After Heche was pronounced brain dead, her family on Thursday made the difficult decision to take her off life support after any viable organs could be donated. She passed away Sunday evening.
