This is really wild to me that they don't even have a title for this yet, let alone a trailer and such. Though if memory serves, the first one was rushed to a degree also, right?

Bill Murray pretty much confirms he's in this movie. He appeared on BT Sport in the UK for the Cubs/Cards game over there and mentions it. And Ghostbusters just wrapped production in the UK last week.

Starts at 1:40.

I didn't think this movie was making its 2023 date even if there was no strike at all, so that's not a surprise.

Well, just like the first movie's trailer, that didn't look the least bit funny. But who knows, I kinda liked the reboot.

One little thing from that trailer, they try to dramatically show the sudden deep chill at the beach, so why is this guy continuing to hold the metal grate right as it freezes? Like wouldn't be cold and wouldn't you let go or shiver or something?

I loved the reboot and, really, anything that gets Bill Murray with a proton pack is fine with me.

This trailer looked great and I like the idea of a frozen NYC.

Looks awful. Afterlife sucked, too.

Are they intentionally trying to reference Karate Kid in the trailer for some reason? I mean, I cannot hear Banarama's Cruel Summer without thinking of Karate Kid, and then they go right to beach soccer, which re-enforces the feeling. I mean, I get that it's also a Sony property, but it's just weird.

Maybe it's just me?

Ha! You're not alone. That's exactly what I basically said in a text thread with friends sharing the trailer. They were also both summer 1984 movies together.

EDIT: One of my friends being super picky noted that TKK's beach scene had "bop bop on the beach" while "cruel summer" played during soccer tryouts

Patton Oswalt just tweeted this. I assumed the strike would prevent that.

I enjoyed Afterlife mostly because of the, IMO, touching tribute to Egon/Ramis but as much as I enjoyed it at the time, Iíve had no interest at all to revisit it.

I liked the cast, particularly the little girl and Coon, from the last movie so Iíll at least give this a rental.

Re: Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024, D: Kenan)

I loved Afterlife but I do get the "needs more humor" complaints. Ghostbusters is a tricky balance between humor and action/sci-fi/horror. I wasn't expecting a frozen NY for a sequel, but I'm here for it. Looks pretty solid from that quick glance.

Also, aren't they just recycling the plot of Ghostbusters 2? An all powerful evil entity feeding off the negative energy of New York?

Was on Twitter and saw that Eric Roberts responded to the trailer by saying that Jason Reitman is a mean person, but makes good films. I have no idea what that's about or if there's some existing beef between the two.

William Atherton (Walter Peck) is supposed to be in this movie and I'm guessing with New York freezing he's going to be some sort of climate change alarmist.

At least with no dick he doesn’t have to worry about shrinkage.

Although they are likely secondary characters, it was cool seeing glimpses of Murray, Hudson and Aykroyd in the trailer.
