I don't have high hopes, but I love the original enough to at least watch this once.

Let's place bets on how long into the flick before Ralphie digs up the corpse of the leglamp.

Yeah, but scanning through some of the “fresh” reviews, they aren’t particularly glowing.

There’s a lot of “Yeah, this movie exists and I guess you can enjoy it next to the original” type comments.

Which is probably just about what we all expect from this movie.

I thought this was decent enough. Some stupid scenes, but it is nowhere near the level of that garbage DTV sequel they did with Daniel Stern.

The ending was great.

This wound being not the bad, but a little underwhelming. The trailer made it look a lot more screwball than it is. Ralphie’s wife was hot AF in that orange dress.

I thought this was very enjoyable. I must have been in the right mood because I was never a huge fan of the original. It was sort of fun to see an adult version of Ralphie. Loved the ending as well.

Obviously not as great as the nearly perfect original film, but I thought this was way better than I expected. It's definitely something I would watch again.

I guess they didn’t want a bald adult Ralphie. That wig is rough.

Never made it all the way through the original. I just don’t connect with it.
Probanly watch this one at some point just because I’m curious.

I watched this tonight and enjoyed it more than I was expecting to. I laughed out loud quite a few times. HBO Max has had two good Christmas movies with this and 8-Bit Christmas.

It wasn't as bad as expecting. Enough nostalgia to make it enjoyable. Of course, no way it would come close to the original.

A half hour to go but the scene with the bar patrons at the ramp crashing into everything as they try to go sledding is one of the funniest things I have seen in quite some time.

I laughed so hard I started coughing during that scene. I was almost rolling around on the floor.

That was pretty hilarious. Really liked how they incorporated the father into this, very clever. My family enjoyed it quite a bit.

Still better than A Christmas Story 2, but I wish they could have brought Melinda Dillion back. Julie Hagerty seemed a little out of place.

I gave the movie a chance based on these comments. I will not be adding to the string.

I was impressed with the look of the movie. They lit and coloured it just right to capture that 70s film look. It stands out for a HBO movie.
