A legend and a half.

He had so many great, great roles, but believe it or not one of my favorite movies is Sneakers and I think he's absolutely brilliant in it, just elevates the whole movie.

Damn. Another big loss. The man always had a great presence in any movie he did. Very sad news.

I remember having to watch "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" for a college assignment. Great movie - one of the more memorable assignments I had and wrote a good essay regarding the cultural impact of that movie.

Sneakers is a really fun movie. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that the one Poitier movie I’ve seen the most is the 80s action/adventure classic, Shoot to Kill.

RIP Poitier is a true Hollywood legend.

I haven't seen a lot of Poitier movies. But in 1967, he was in To Sir, With Love, In the Heat of the Night, and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Any one of those movies would have been in the first paragraph of most actors' obituaries. He was so handsome and so exciting to watch.

RIP sir
Love the movies that I have seen of his and I own many of his movies, but I still, need to watch a few from the unwatch pile.
also liked his acting in many of the movies he did in the 90's.

"A Raisin In The Sun" is one of the best movies ever made.

RIP

RIP

It probably was not considered as one his best movies but Little Nikita was fun to watch.

To Sir with Love was a classic and I remember CBS did a sequel as a Sun night movie in the 90's.

He also produced a hot daughter.

I want to visit all his films now. Some hard to get on Blu, but getting To Sir with Love, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner which are both Indicator produced. Got Defiant Ones and To Sir on Vudu and will probably get what I can. Already have In Heat of Night Criterion Blu set to go in queue.
Also want Shoot to Kill which is what I know him from growing up and I’m surprised I never got dvd bc I loved that movie. Doesn’t even stream. DVD is 4.99 but 1-2 month wait :(

Watching Shoot to Kill. 80’s cheese but this was a little better.

I vaguely recall renting Shoot to Kill on VHS back when I was in High School and liking it. Unfortunately it looks like you can't rent it digitally and the DVD is long out of print.

I think I saw it in 1989 and damn I wish I would have revisited it sooner.

I was talking about that film earlier today with some of my High School students as they were asking me who Poitier was.

RIP to an absolute legend!
