I had zero problem following the story and the details. Of course, being really familiar with how the concept of multiple/infinite universes/realities works this was right in my wheelhouse on that score. (I mean, grew up with the idea of alternate universes with Star Trek, "Mirror Mirror," which I watched for the first time around 1975 or so when I was 7.)
But the WAY this one handled the alternate universe/multiverse thing was really clever and fresh. I loved that.
Now, not everything works. A couple things get overly silly and you're just like, "Come on, that's going a bridge too far," but, even so, the movie is still really, really good. Like I said when I came out of the movie - it was bizarre and crazy, but SUPER touching and heartfelt. It really was a weird, bizarre, existential, philosophical, exciting, action packed, funny, emotional, touching, heartfelt multiverse movie. Truly Everything Everywhere All At Once - the perfect title for this one!
Never before have we seen a movie with all of these elements, and what's so surprising is how those elements all work together. Not quite flawlessly, but amazingly well.

I might try to watch this again in a week or so when my schedule lightens up a little. I’m sure there are more little details I missed.
I’m really happy for Michelle Yeoh. Been a fan for years since her Hong Kong action days. Now at almost 60, this is probably one of the best works of her career and could get her some award recognition.

Maybe we should put "movie you need to see" in the title to really amp it up, Dan.

Anyway, just wait until all the threads Oldboy comes up with after he discovers this movie.

Meh. I left after 30 minutes.
...because the dude next to me was hacking up a lung and I gotta visit the folks this weekend. Enjoyed what I saw, fuck that guy.

Only front row was left and I dunno if it's my glasses or what but that shit makes me dizzy. They had it in the smallest auditorium (50 seat theater) and it's the 2nd highest grossing movie per theater (non ultra limited releases) at the moment, go figure. No biggie but it's fun to complain

All of my local theatres only had 3 showings per day for this last weekend and only 2 during the week. This coming weekend they are now doing 4 showings. I don't see that happen often.

I get it. But I still think it’s something that will be digital fairly soon, especially since it’s A24.

I wasn’t referring to anything regarding a digital release. Just stating that the theatres seem to be adding showtimes in the second week, which I rarely see for a smaller film. It should hit digital by mid-May.

I just saw the trailer and I have to see this. At first I thought it was another deliciously wacky Stephen Chow film.

This is expanding from 1,200 to 2,200 screens this weekend.
Not sure that will make much of a difference because the audience for something like this is never gonna be very big, no matter how good the film is.
I am looking forward to it quite a bit.

Caught this today and I don't even know how to describe this movie. It was utterly ridiculous in an entertaining, fascinating, and heartfelt way. There was one other person in the theater with me on a Friday afternoon which I appreciated since this was my first time in a theater since Shang-Chi I think.

I had vaguely heard Jamie Lee Curtis was in this and completely forgot by the time I saw it, and I had NO idea that character was her. I was halfway convinced a man was playing the character because of her size/presence for some reason. Very cool to see her stretch herself (literally) in something besides another endless Halloween sequel.
I described it to my wife as "What if Terry Gilliam directed Parasite" which IMHO almost works.

I thought I had seen it all and then I walked into a theater to see this film
Loved it. Absolutely bonkers with a wonderful cast and tons of heart.

Well, are you going to see this or what? Is your local theater showing it yet?
