I thought this was a thread about the animated movie about that dog.

I'm pretty sure this will be terrible, but I also know I will watch it because of Kate.

I’m a sucker for these “women kicking ass” movies. This one doesn’t strike me as particular great but if it’s on Prime, I’ll check it out.

That looked real good. But, movies like this could go either way, but looks like a lot of fun.

Just ok for me on this one. Kate at times look like you can tell she is aging and others just looks radiant. I might have to watch this again.

One review described this as the Aldi Atomic Blonde.

It was okay. Kate Bekinsale was excellent and looked gorgeous here... but I saw the twist a mile away from the get-go.

Re: Jolt (2021, D: Wexler) - S: Kate Beckinsale

Kate Beckinsale is adorable, even when she’s supposed to be a lunatic but this movie plays like the director watched every other action movie in the last few years and decided to make a movie with as many of those cliches as they could.

Everyone lives or works in a dank, crumbling apartment or office that you only see in these kinds of movies. All the murderous billionaires live in darkly lit warehouses and eat alone at giant tables. The cops are always one step behind the hero and Beckinsale literally strolls into every place she wants, regardless of how secure the building should be. And yeah, anyone who’s seen any of these types of movies can spot the “twist” a mile away.

Despite that, I think I’d recommend this just for Beckinsale. She’s it’s one saving grace and luckily the movie doesn’t take itself very seriously which makes all the ridiculousness somewhat easier to take.

I enjoyed this movie. It looked good, the action was exciting, and it moved along at a fast pace. Although it's a totally forgettable, dumb popcorn action flick. I probably won't remember it next week. But even though it was stupid, I had fun watching it.

I thought this was pretty bad, but at least it gave me something nice to look at for 90 mins.

Re: Jolt (2021, D: Wexler) - S: Kate Beckinsale

I enjoyed this for what it was. I did appreciate the fact that they attempted to explain, no matter how implausible or far fetched, a reason why she was able to kick ass against much larger guys. A lot of these types of movies don't and it can break suspension of reality at times. But she wasn't just some highly trained person with anger issues. She was basically a super soldier mutant.

Re: Jolt (2021, D: Wexler) - S: Kate Beckinsale

I have this in the queue to watch at some point but looking up the director -- this is like a complete 180 departure of what she's normally directed. As for the writer, this is his first screenplay.

Ugh...Kate is nice to look at. That is all.

This movie was a mess and I could tell immediately it was the "pilot" for a series. It felt like a TV movie and cheap looking and yeah the "twist" is seen miles away.

Re: Jolt (2021, D: Wexler) - S: Kate Beckinsale

This was not nearly as bad as I had expected given the low rating on IMDB and comments above. It wasn't amazing or groundbreaking but it was a nice short movie. It was kind of dumb sure but it was fun to see Kate kick some butt and she is still easy on the eyes even if she really needs to eat a sandwich. ;)
