It's possible, but honestly I think it's equally likely that the international market, which is not typically known for being as picky about CGI quality, is also a factor. There could also be other issues in terms of direction of individual films and overarching metanarrative not really... effects-heavy sequences may not have the right alignment of creator skillset. I think the action sequences are very often not creative in these films and likewise these aren't really character-driven stories, as much as they try to make them. Blockbusters in the past 10-20 years have really fallen into the Golden Mean fallacy in terms of what they offer, and it's more pronounced with the MCU because it increasingly feels like they have an algorithm to these films, from initial marketing to Disney+ premiere.

I have thought that the MCU movies always looked "cheap," almost like they were tv productions. Overlit like a Lifetime movie. The sets look kind of cheap, more like they're tv pilots than tentpole franchise films. And then there's the weird issue where the films are filled with bright primary colors, but also look washed-out and they blow everything out to where there isn't any black in the image.
Whereas the DC films --- whether they're the "DCEU" movies like Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, or Justice League (both versions), or the "Elseworlds" stuff like Joker and The Batman -- look like actual movies.
There's just a "quality" to them that reeks of low budgets and fast productions -- and that's especially true of the Disney+ series, especially Ms Marvel and She-Hulk. The same could also be said for the Star Wars series like Book of Boba Fett, Kenobi, and The Mandalorian. Sort of like how so many Netflix series seem to have a "house style."

Eh. Trailer didn’t do anything for me. Looks like a long tv show, especially since they have a tv show incorporated. Still does’t look good.

That looked incredible. If the trailer is a good sign to come of the actual film this might end up being my favorite MCU movie.

Yes, it looks low budget and made for TV. But another thing it looks like is a whole lot of fun. I'm in.

Looks fantastic. Larson’s Captain Marvel is one of my favorite MCU characters and “Ms. Marvel” was a goddamn delight. I’m totally in!
As for the look, I’ll take color over “rainy grimdark” any day!

It looks like a lot of fun, we can't wait to watch it (my daughter is very excited about the return of Goose).

I really liked the first Captain Marvel movie but this looks like it’s going to be annoying AF. I’ll check it out on D+ but my days of seeing Marvel movies in theater appear to be done. Black Panther 2 was terrible (and looked cheap) and I haven’t even gotten to Ant-Man 3 yet.

Same here for John Wick. I did go to Dungeons and Dragons on a solo outing to kill some time but mostly I just stick to Marvel movies. The only ones worth the cost to me.

This was my impression of a lot of the scenes. Especially earlier on when the skrulls or whatever are charging at Monica on what looked like a moon. That looked incredibly cheap. On the other hand, after Ms. Marvel, I'm looking forward to seeing what Iman does in any capacity.

First film did well. This has the potential to do very well. As we know, though, it is so dependent on the story. We get a shitty story, ala WW84, and this will be another female led superhero movie that bombed.

Iger is right, Disney+ has diluted the brand. This looks like a very good movie…to watch on Disney+.

Are we sure this movie isn't some elaborate joke by Marvel? Just looking at this trailer (and posters, lol) who does this appeal to? A section of the MCU fans I suppose. Probably headed to 450m worldwide...

I on the other hand can't imaging anyone watching the trailer and not thinking it looks like a fun time.
