It’s like they took one big star and the rest, less than stellar or big name, save for JK perhaps, stars. Many tv to boot. Obviously to save $. But Pratt probably got half the budget and just did it for money. But, being a sucker for sci-fi and loved Edge of, Source Code, Boss Level, others. They made the time thing work so well. I’m a little buzzed, I’ll start in a bit. I like Pratt of course. How could you not? Even as a guest on first S of P&R that obviously turned into main cast and thus catapulted his career. But playing such a goof ball I don’t know how anyone pegged him for an action star that turned him into A-list movie actor in due time. Whoever that was, perhaps Gunn making him Star Lord.

It’s either this or Soderbergh’s new one which looks real good.

I actually enjoyed the first 90-100 minutes of this a lot. They would’ve done better to either go with a different ending or break it into two movies, which I think actually would’ve been the better route. It felt like they made a movie and had enough story left for sequel, but decided to just condense that part to half an hour and slap it on the end as a mindless and heartless couple of set pieces. It really brings the whole thing down.

Dumb as hell, but I did not hate it. The action was fun but the idiotic premise falls apart if you give it more than 5 seconds of thought.

Enjoyed it for what it is.

First thing I noticed about the ocean base. Why don't they built the walls with an outward slant so nothing can climb over it!?!?!

This was a great movie. Much better than I expected from a direct to streaming film. The action, the cast, the special effects, and the creature designs were all excellent. Honestly, it felt like a real Hollywood summer blockbuster theatrical release.

It was supposed to come out in theaters on Christmas Day last year, but with COVID doing its thing it got delayed until July 23rd, 2021.

Before that could happen, Amazon stepped in and bought the movie from Paramount in January for close to $200m.

I was hyped for some mindless fun. It’s mindless, without the fun. This is a really bad waste of time.

The creatures looked like deranged Mewtwos… or maybe Mewtwos with mange.

Still a decent movie though. I didn’t hate it.

👍🏼

It was okay just too long found myself almost drifting off asleep. Creatures design not as good as the one in A Quiet Place.

I give it a C-

Because Strahovski certainly does LOOK like the child of Gilpin and Pratt.

Somewhat predictable, but fun. Borrowed themes from lots of other movies, Aliens, Terminator, The Thing, BttF, Live/Die/Repeat... hell, Days of Future Past.

Glad it didn't worry about the paradox and just pushed through with the resolution and that Pratt wasn't the cause of all this.

Aye. Sites that post stories about tweets from random people kinda make me cringe. A lot.

Why, how are their comments and opinions any different than the random people here?

They’re not. The difference is we’re a community who somewhat know each other, at least virtually. If a mainstream site started quoting us for our takes on specific movies, I’d find it to be a pretty horrible take on reviewing a film.

Comments here don't make it front page of heavily trafficked websites as a piece promoting a "general consensus." Simply for the sake of bashing something.

Comments sections and forums should remain such, not as article headlines. It's just a pet peeve.
