If purchase of the physical disc conferred to me the ability to retain the digital form for free I'd do it. But that's as far as I would go.

I guess you missed it, it was going for under $10 last November. That's when I got it. The sale price was mentioned here as well.

The 4K was $9.99 at Walmart for Black Friday, and at my Walmart anyway, the copies sat there for hours, untouched. Amazon price matched for a period of time.

Same here. They still had six or seven copies a few days later; the Black Friday media display at Walmart last year was tiny, basically just one table that was about eight feet long, and the DVDs/blus/4Ks were sharing space with LPs. None of the BF sale media looked very picked over, so it wasn't just the Snyder Cut release.

The pandemic really wreaked havoc with the last couple of Black Friday sales; I seem to recall had the deals spread out over a November so it wasn't the big event it was in years past.

I avoid the big box stores on Black Friday but I figured I'd be able to snag it soon after, but I don't even see it used much. I'd love to find a deal on that Snyder trilogy 4K set.

It was $13 at Best Buy a month ago. I swore I wouldn't buy it because of the aspect ratio, but I caved.

Okay, but is it possible to fix it? Studios will just have to make decisions the old fashioned way and go with their gut, if that's still possible. But, if this is something they indirectly created, then it's all their collective faults.

There's clearly a fanbase for this. Somebody keeps buying up all the UHD copies at the store, I can't fathom that many people buying multiples just to try inflate the numbers.

Bots are all over twitter, sure, but there's also a lot of fans that like a nice, long, occasionally grimdark superhero movie, myself included.

Both Whedon and Snyder's version are terrible. Thankfully Whedon's is terrible for a shorter runtime.

Eh. I liked the movie but not enough to buy it.

It's what the movie should have been in the first place, although maybe edited down a bit to the 3-3.5hr mark.
