And yeah, the B&W version is perfect. Love the Logan B&W as well.

Well the Snyder Cut is 75% there anyway so it's not that big of a leap.

Now THAT we can agree on! I’ve seen enough broken strands of pearls scattering across asphalt in slow motion to last a lifetime.

And y’all know about the pearls, right? Apparently quality strings of pearls have knots between every pearl so in case of breakage only the 2-3 right at the break would drop. So Martha was wearing cheap pearls.

Watched a few scenes of Justice is Gray version and some of the high contrast shots look insane. Any Flash scene involving his electricity flares looks like a fucking painting that you can hang up on a wall. Is it my preferred version? No. But I appreciate HBO MAX putting it up on their site. Didn't have to pay for it. It's a cool experiment.

I honestly don't like Ben Affleck in general and don't want to see him in a show. I don't even like most superhero shows. Or most modern TV... Just get to the point! Stop stretching a storyline over an entire season!

I’ve decided I like shorter comic book shows. Wandavision was the perfect length. But I’ve bailed on all the CW shows after watching religiously for years - I can’t do 8 seasons with the Flash who can take out pretty much any “big bad” the first time they show up.

That’s interesting knowing what a disappointment his DC movies have been. Did Man of Steel and BvS suddenly get better?

Technically BvS got better with the Ultimate Edition. But blowing their load with Supe's death on the 2nd DC movie, before we even got MoS2 will forever taint the overall movie universe.

Draven, For a person who supposedly despises these movies, you've been pretty active trying to keep the discussion going. I thought you wanted this to just go away.

Re: Zack Snyder’s Justice League (Snyder, 2021) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I watched the new documentary on the road to Justice League. If you own Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition or the regular on digital, you can now watch it on Movies Anywhere. It was pretty good about how everything led up to this movie. Zack seems like a good dude and it sounds like he loved making these movies and working with the cast, who he considers his friends. I can't help but like the guy.

Now that I finally felt something while watching Justice League, Man of Steel was better when I watched it last week.

I appreciate the smiley faces - here's the thing: I don't like these movies (well, I like Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa). But when someone posts something new about this topic (like that HBO might want to continue with a Snyder-helmed show), I do have an opinion on that. If this thread is only for people who are excited about whatever Snyder does with DC, then I guess I shouldn't post so much. But considering that we'll be done discussing this movie by next weekend, the thread is going to either die or continue with new information about Snyder's future with the franchise - and if new information about Snyder's continued involvement (after running it into the ground IMHO) I have thoughts to share

I'll say this: I still haven't seen the entire movie, and I highly doubt it'll become a classic in my eyes when I watch the next couple of hours, but I have always like the casting and one thing this did do was have a ton of companies do new interpretations of the characters as items. Like I'm very happy that it prompted McFarlane to make some new action figures of them (even if the MoS esque non black and white Superman is an exclusive).

Re: Zack Snyder’s Justice League (Snyder, 2021) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I just watched Man of Steel on 4K disc a couple of days ago and it looked great and sounded phenomenal in Dolby Atmos. It's also pretty entertaining in that superman is allowed to go nuts and kill. Blah, blah, blah, but that's not what the character does. Who cares. This is not the comics or the animated series where they have more freedom to do more self-contained/expansive stories than can make him whatever they want to make him as. Superman in film has always been a bit of a bore anyways. Glad they tried something different with MOS.

But yeah, that ATMOS soundtrack is killer!

Did the original cut show Wonder Woman blowing out the building (this clip ends right there)? I do like the colors a lot better brighter. But I can completely understand why that shot was cut in the Whedon cut. That scene doesn't even have anything to do with the rest of the movie, and IIRC, Whedon's version inserts a (really cludgy) line that tries to imply that happened because of Steppenwolf's influence or something, so it's obvious he included it (while cutting the extraneous Flash and Cyborg scenes) because it was a cool action scene. But watching the Snyder cut I did find it odd how she basically blew away the one bad guy and half the building away with a special emphasis on how it covered the entire street and surrounding cops with rubble, and then the little girl is like "can I be like you?"

If you can’t dedicate four hours the chapter breaks really do work as pretty natural stopping points. That’s how I wound up watching it.

I used the chapters as stopping points too. Chapter 3 ends just under the 2 hour mark.

Snyder Cut just became the most streamed movie in CRAVE history, beating out an episode from Game of Thrones' last season in 2019.

Action is better in Snyder's but I prefer Whedon's colors for Wonder Woman.

Agreed. Though it still makes you wonder why WW had to blow up half the building instead of just disarming that guy. We literally just saw her move faster than a speeding bullet, she couldn’t have made it 10 feet and stopped the guy while he was reloading?
