Will the dialog be more colorful?

You spelled dialogue wrong.

EDIT - I guess they're both accepted. Also, that comment did make me chuckle.

I’m holding out for the silent version: “Justice is Sepia Toned”

Imagine thinking “you know what would make this better? Removing the color.”

And no one said no

Making it B&W and calling it the “Justice is Grey” edition sounds like a teenage boy’s idea that he thinks is some genius, deep, symbolic thought.

I take it the B&W Justice is Gray version is supposed to be some kind of homage to the old Superhero serials of the early days. It's stylistic choice.

I assume most here probably have no interesting in watching it again in B&W.

I watched it for a couple mins and shut it off. Might've watched the whole thing if I hadn't already seen the other twice. Might've been interesting to see which version won out if both were released together. Click on "Zack Snyder's Justice League" and a screen pops up showing both.

Eh kind of. I actually don’t like that version. Feels artsy for the sake of artsy. Logan has the same problem too.

But Zach Snyder has dedicated his career to removing as much color as possible from DC movies. So I guess this is his personal Endgame.

The only "newer" film I really dug in B&W was Fury Road.

The B&W version of the Mist is so much better. It makes it feel like a 50’s monster movie. Plus the special effects actually look better.

I don't think there is a DCEU at this point. They're just going to pull bits and pieces of the half dozen or so movies connected to the "Snyderverse" to use in other movies with little regard to any kind of over-arcing continuity.

I believe there is an interview with a WB exec who said that The Flash opens up the multiverse. And the idea is the multiverse movies can do what they want. It'll basically be like the Spiderverse movie. Then everything will be connected. But they can be completely different versions and won't require continuity.

I also read a rumor that HBO might be interested in continuing the Snyderverse.

Supposedly from what I read the HBO Max side wants to continue the Snyderverse, but WarnerMedia doesn’t want it to continue and wants to push forward with their new projects (The Batman, Abrams’ Superman, etc.).

Also I scanned through the Justice is Gray version a little bit. Honestly it doesn’t look that bad like that, but I prefer the colorized version.

Re: Zack Snyder’s Justice League (Snyder, 2021) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

There's an internal struggle between HBO Max, run by corporate overlord AT&T, and Warner the movie studio. Warner executives want to put the Snyderverse in the rearview mirror and reboot DC's movies. HBO Max funded completing the Snyder Cut. Warner never wanted it finished in the first place, but were overruled by AT&T. Lots of petty infighting by all reports typical of movie executives.

HBO Max is interested in a prestige Batman television series with Ben Affleck's Batman.

I wonder if this explains the seemingly internal power struggle that happened around all of WB’s theatrical movies being released on HBOmax day-and-date for a limited time. There seemed to be a lot of confusion by execs when all that was announced.

Fuck yes! I hope this comes true.

Throw Affleck a crazy amount and get him into an HBO Max Batman series. Would be fricken awesome.

It's all up to Affleck but he's an in-demand movie star with lucrative offers always on the table. Much more likely we get an animated project or two out of the Synder cut than anything else.

I am 100% for this as long as they keep Snyder far far away and get someone with Batman cred in to guide it.

I’m far from a Snyder fanboy but I think his vision of Batman worked pretty well. We didn’t get to see a ton of Batman/Gotham in JL but what little we did see was cool, IMO. Frankly, Snyder’s dark, brooding style fits more with Batman than other superheroes. If we’re going to keep Snyder away from something, keep him away from Superman - a character who should be the exact opposite of dark and brooding.

I actually care very little about Batman as a character but Snyder obviously just thinks he’s a version of The Punisher and he’s not. You need someone in there who really understands Batman and his history. And who doesn’t feel the need to show us Martha and Thomas getting shot again.
