All I will say is I love BTTFIII. Much more creative than many give it credit for, and it does wrap up everything nicely.
Thrilled it was never really ruined with a movie years later.

Since it’s really 1 movie split in 2 parts...Avengers: Infinity War/Avengers: Endgame. It’s just everything that makes cinema incredible. It’s truly epic storytelling.

Since it's the third of a true TRILOGY I'll also go with BTTF III.
The whole series is fun. And it was great revisiting the series with the new 4K release.

I'm digging on the BTTF III love around here! That whole trilogy is solid--perhaps the the trilogy with the most consistent quality (and II is HIGHLY underrated).

In terms of true trilogies, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly wins with BTF III getting honorable mention. GBU was arguably the best of the three and BTF was an excellent cap on an excellent franchise. I hope there’s never a fourth or any continuation/reboot whatsoever.
As far as others, Die Hard With A Vengeance & Last Crusade both stand out.
It’s gained respect over time, but I’ve always loved Halloween III.
Also although it’s often mocked, Friday the 13th part 3 is my favorite and possibly the most important since he gets his mask.

Unpopular opinion for sure, but Die Hard With A Vengeance is the only Die Hard film I like.
But as far as true trilogies go, BTTF III.

Another thing about the films I love is that they’ve never been remade or had another tacked on sequel. They did the three and stopped there.
I’m sure Universal would love to cash in on more sequels or a remake, but Zemeckis and Gale won’t allow for either to happen. They’re great films as they are and a remake would never be as good and a sequel won’t happen at this point.
As far as trilogies go, I do think there are some franchises where even though there are more than three films trilogies exist within the franchise.
Like for instance Star Wars is a great example. The Original Trilogy, Prequel Trilogy, and Sequel Trilogy are distinctly different. Even though they’re technically the Skywalker Saga those are separate trilogies in my view. Same with The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Technically they’re tied together very closely, but they’re still different enough from each other.

not sure if this would count, since there is no tying characteristics and it isn't better than Park's second, of course, OldBoy (2003), but Sympathy for Lady Vengeance imo is a masterpiece and a damn fine entry in his Vengeance Trilogy.

I think the Cornetto Trilogy has a strong third movie in "The World's End". All 3 movies are good but I like it more than "Shaun of the Dead" or "Hot Fuzz"

I’ve actually never seen The World’s End. I really liked Shaun of the Dead. Hot Fuzz wasn’t bad, but it went bit over my head and I don’t think I’ve seen it since it came out.
Not a part of the Cornetto Trilogy, but I really like Paul, which also stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

I completely disagree about the amount of humor, though at least there is no belching in IV. I watched it a few weeks ago for the first time in years, and felt like damn near everything in the 1980s was played for laughs.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I thought the humor in IV was witty, nuanced, and organic to the story. As for playing the 1980s for laughs: the two Roddenberrian Trek shows (TOS and TNG) always had a outspoken disdain for our times so it makes sense. V, on the other hand, is practically The Three Stooges in the 23rd century.

Return of the Jedi is the only one that comes to mind.
