That does look pretty fun. It's actually playing at a couple of theatres around Orange County, where I live. But, they are a little out of the way.
I'm 30/70 on wanting to spend $20 to rent this now. While it does look fun, not sure it's worth that much as a rental. It's not something I urgently want to see. |

I watched this last night and really liked it. I was surprised how much I cared about the characters. And the monsters looked great.

So I bought a ticket to see this on Thursday. Ticket was only $8.50 and the theatre is only about 9 miles away from where I live.
Better than paying the $20 premium VOD price. (Yes I know you're paying for convenience) |

Just got back from seeing it in the theatre as I said above.
I had a blast. It was awesome. Probably my favorite among all the movies I've seen since theatres reopened. Had a little bit of Tremors and a little bit of Cloverfield in it. It was really fun and kept me engaged. This felt very fresh for the monster genre. I'd give this an A- |

I have been itching to see this so y'all have convinced me to use some of my Fandango gift card money to buy this film (or can you only rent right now?). I suspect I will enjoy it very much.
ETA: Sigh...other sites have it for purchase but I use my Fandango GCs on Vudu's site and it is still rental only for a couple more months. By the time I am ready to purchase I bet I can wait a bit longer and Xfinity will offer it to me free (that happened with Trolls World Tour, Bloodshot, and a few other films from earlier in the year). Oh well, I can be patient. |

What a fucking great movie!! Ton of heart and best of all so much fucking fun. Never saw anything with O’Brien, but he was terrific. Everyone was terrific. Best post apocalyptic story I’ve seen in a long time. Shit, was this fun. Wished for more Minnow and Rooker, but what we got was great stuff. Just such an enjoyable, good time movie you could ask for. Absolutely loved it!!

O’Brian is great. His charm made The Maze Runner films bearable. One film of his I really enjoy is The First Time co-starring with Britt Robertson.

Back to this one, I see no reason why there can’t be another with all or most of the same players. It was just that good and I think more story to tell with the same charm and post-apocalyptic zaniness as this. I would love another, but if this is it so be it. I will buy this when it’s released physically and hope for some nice extras and a commentary track. It was just that good! |

This is low budget for the genre and all the effects work is during broad fucking daylight for a change. Seeing as it was filmed in Australia, it is questionable how much was actual effects work.
Really enjoyed this. A little bummed it wasn't a tv/streaming series. |

This is able to be rented VOD now. I was able to preorder the Blu-ray for $9.99 due to a pricing error, so I’ll just wait another month to watch. Looking forward to it though.

Wow, what a great find at the Redbox. Smart, sweet and funny Monsterapocalypse teen adventure with Dylan O’Brian and Michael Rooker. Boy treks through a mutated-monster wasteland to reconnect with his girlfriend, with the help of a couple of seasoned strangers and an extremely smart dog. Great monster effects.

Sounds fun. Pretty mild PG-13, I assume? We have young kids who have seen LOTR, Ghostbusters, etc. and lived to tell the tale.

I was finally able to buy this via Fandango Now (used gift card) a few weeks back and it was one of the most enjoyable films I have seen in quite some time. The cast was great and I would love to see a sequel. Anyone who was thinking about seeing this but waiting until its VOD purchase price dropped I would say now is the time to pick up this film. What I liked was that it was not gruesome or a downer, chalk it up to the pandemic but for quite some time I have avoided watching things that are too dark. Also, I am a sucker for monster films and this film did not skimp on the monster action.

What a GREAT movie! Definitely influence by multiple Harryhausen classics. Bought in in UHD on VUDU. My adult son watched it through my account, he said it is his now his favorite movie of the past few years.

I watched this tonight and I loved it. It's essentially Zombieland with monsters and I loved Zombieland. This could have been a sleeper hit if it wasn't released during a pandemic. I'd love to see a sequel. 4/5

We got this as a blind buy stocking stuffer ($5.99 Best Buy Black Friday) and watched it as a family a couple days after Christmas. We all really, really enjoyed it. The kids thought it was a lot like Zombieland (which they've also watched with some muting, skipping, etc.) and we are up for many more movies in this universe to come. We also think it would be really fun to have some sort of space-time portal thing open for a "Love and Monsters in Zombieland" crossover. Let L&M have a sequel so they're both at two, then do a crossover as their third movie each. After that, a final fourth movie for each and a spin-off series on Netflix for both. There, Hollywood, we figured it all out for you. You're welcome!
