Of the 3 mentioned, I have more of a sentimental attachment to the F13 series. The original film was one of the first horror films I remember seeing as a kid.
Halloween follows a close 2nd for me.

Robert England made Freddy sarcastic, funny and so scary all at once. He has personality. Obviously, the other 2 don’t as they don’t even talk. Don’t get me wrong still love them, but personality doesn’t describe Jason or Michael. But, Freddy has always been my guy. The movies certainly turned to shit after 3 however, but New Nightmare ok. Jackie Earle Haley movie is a dreadful bore. But Freddy and especially Englund’s Freddy...

Halloween. Carpenter’s theme is so iconic.

The original Halloween beats them all but if we’re going by series it’s a Nightmare on Elm Street for me. Those movies were a big part of my childhood. I can watch them all today and instantly be transported back to being a kid in the late 80s.
F13 movies were fun but they never really made an impact on me. Honestly, I’m not sure I’ve even seen them all all the way through. Same with Halloween. After Halloween III they’re all a blur of less-than-memorable garbage.
That being said, I enjoyed the last David Gordon Green Halloween and am eagerly anticipating the next two.

Re: Which one of the Big 3 horror franchises is your favorite?
This is tough.
Halloween is probably the greatest slasher of all time. Unfortunately Halloween 4,5,6 & 8 are pretty bad. With part 8 being the worst.
Friday the 13th has its ups and downs but 1-6 are very watchable, 7&8 are below average. 9 is pretty bad and 10 is a huge piece of shit.
Nightmare On Elm St is highly overrated in my opinion. Other than the first and the last, there’s not a whole lot worth watching. If Englund wasn’t so great in the role, these would be about as highly regarded as Leprechaun.
Ill say Friday the 13th by a razor thin margin.

For me it’s Friday the 13th/Jason. I enjoy pretty much all the Paramount films to varying degrees. Jason Takes Manhattan is weak, but still watchable. I only really dislike Jason Goes to Hell. Jason X is cheesy fun, and the remake while not my favorite is okay.
Halloween is probably my runner up. I like the first four films a lot. The original film is obviously one of the best slashers/horror films of all time. I really like the third and fourth films. Oddly I kind of like The Curse of Michael Myers despite its problems. H20 is okay.
Not a huge fan of Resurrection or the Zombie films. Also I don’t love the 2018 film like many do.
A Nightmare on Elm Street I’m actually not terribly familiar with. I’ve obviously seen the original as well as the second and third films. I’ve also seen Wes Craven’s New Nightmare and the remake. Haven’t seen the fourth through sixth for quite a while.

Halloween for me for sure, though I do love Friday as well. Nightmare on Elm St I could give a fuck about.

Not on the list, but I really love the Child’s Play/Chucky franchise as well. I think most of the movies are pretty enjoyable. Seed of Chucky is easily the weakest, but the others are fun to varying degrees.

Re: Which one of the Big 3 horror franchises is your favorite?
I can't say I really have a preference; all three are just about all on the same level for me, and, if forced to pick a favorite of the three, it would probably depend on which ones I had just watched.
I will say that all three are very good, but start to fall apart after the fourth installments, when they start to degenerate into camp. (I still like Friday the 13th VI a lot, but it's mostly a comedy.)

Limiting my answer to those three. I enjoy each, they have their ups and downs, but I’m much more attached to the mythos of Michael, so Halloween is an easy first choice for me.

I do like the F13 movies better and more played than Nightmare, but it’s always been Freddy. Followed by Jason and then Michael...

I think Freddy is the most iconic character despite his films being my least favorite. Probably just down to the fact that he has a personality rather than just being a hulking killer in a mask.

Yeah it is amazing. I saw the original when I was in 6th grade. I was scare shitless for weeks.
I don't really care for the F13 movies or Jason even though I have seen all of them. Part 2 is probably the one I would like best.
So Freddy would be a second.

Nightmare. More fun all around and the series actually has decent variety, the freaky first one, the over the top 3rd, the cheesy 4-6, and the rather cool reimagining with New Nightmare. I even like Freddy V Jason all right. The first Halloween is a stone-cold classic but almost all of the sequels have been shite. I've only seen a couple of the Friday the 13th movies and they just aren't my thing, I prefer a horror villain to have a little personality.

and the first is absolute classic and scary as hell. F13 not so much. Original Halloween of course classic as well. Don’t think first Friday should be included. While very above average. I don’t think as revered as first Nightmare or first Halloween. Certainly Halloween precedes the 2 others...

Obviously, Carpenter’s theme is second to none but Nightmare on Elm Street has a pretty underrated creepy theme as well. I can still remember being freaked out in the middle of the night at a sleepover as a kid and listening to this music come on the giant 27” tube TV.

Halloween, I love them all expect the two from Rob Zombie. He should have never been allowed near the Halloween films. I'm glad the series bounced back in a big way with the 2018 film. I thought Zombie's trash would ruin the franchise forever.
