Wasn’t really unexpected or a cameo. He’s in the trailer and cast details.

I watched the trailer and must have blocked it out. Had no memory of it and I don't check IMDB before I've watched something.

This was fucking kickass.

What about that ending? with the silhouette of a man.

Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango?

But yeah, seeing as this seems to be quite popular, it's probably who you think it is.

I have a couple of friends that said that the dialogue sound levels are bad - that they had to turn up the volume. They watched the film in standard 5.1. I watched it in Atmos and it sounded great, so I don't now what the deal is there. Anyone have trouble hearing dialogue?

No issues here, were they watching it on a sound system or tv speakers?

This was alright. As I get older I tire of the genre itself. Unless it has something fresh, I can only watch so many movies where people shoot and punch their way through 3/4 of it.

Re: Extraction (2020, D: Hargrave) -- S: Hemsworth, P: The Russo Brothers (Netflix)

I experienced the low audio dialogue, but I just thought the scene made it difficult to hear. For example, during the one shot car chase scene. Or if an actor’s accent while saying the English dialogue made it difficult to interpret as well. So I did use subtitles for only 2 or 3 scenes, not that big of a deal.

I think I remember one scene where the music audio overpowered all the other audio in the scene (background noise, character dialogue audio). It lasted maybe less than 15 seconds. Clearly an editing issue and raising the speaker volume wouldn’t help.

Thought this was terrible. Action was decent; scenery was excellent; the story and writing was garbage. The whole plot made no sense.

Also, how the hell did the kid know about his "dive in water and sit at the bottom" from the opening scene, long before they met?

Thought this was awesome... Netflix totally redeemed itself with an A+ direct offering. And yeah, the guy at the end --- it was him. I fully expect a sequel in two years.

Side note: aside from Thor, Hemsworth hasn't done a whole lot, has he? I mean, he's not Dicaprio but he's not John Cena either (actually, I think he's light years better than Cena).

I was thinking the same, but no he's been in quite a bit. In the Heart of the Sea, A Perfect Getaway, Men in Black International, Vacation, Black Hat, Rush, The Cabin in the Woods, 12 Strong, Ghostbusters, etc;

He's the perfect fit for action flicks like this, but the big paychecks are in those franchise pics.

I liked it for what it was. A lot of cool camera choreography reminiscent of Tsui Hark's Time and Tide.

That was the first movie it reminded me of as well.

I enjoyed it. Did feel very much like an early 2000's movie. Good action scenes. It was hard for me to watch it and not see Thor anytime Hemsworth was on. Still though an enjoyable time waster and way better than that Michael Bay catastrophe. 3/5.

Spoiler:
If that is him in the background of the last shot, he might've already started training him.

Thought it was alright, action was pretty good. The sniper getting sniped was the best moment

I’m sure they left it open for a sequel but I interpreted the final shot as mirroring Hemsworth’s son. Hemsworth imagines him out-of-focus until the end. I took it that
Spoiler:
Hemsworth was dead and the kid was imagining him out-of-focus too. I took it that the kid was “haunted” by Hemsworth’s death the same way Hemsworth was haunted by his sons.

Of course there was the line earlier in the film about falling into the water and not letting yourself be submerged by the water, so if they choose to have the other ending, it was choreographed through that conversation.

I think Netfix;s best original movie

Amazing action, and loved the use of Bollywood actors

I have got to admit this kicked ass. It was really good. Agree with all those saying this is probably Netflix's best move. Marketed right probably would have done decent Box Office. I agree that it
Spoiler:
was him standing there at the end.

The story is fairly unoriginal. It’s a plot that we’ve seen 20 times before but this movie sets itself apart with the direction and camera work. The badass car chase sequence where the camera sweeps from following the car to swinging around the front of the car to seemlessly sweeping into the backseat to swinging back outside at the end rivaled the legendary scene in Children of Men.

That killer 12 minute fight/shootout was damn impressive too! Something you don’t see in these types of movies.

I also appreciated that when a character was injured he stayed injured. The wound on Hemsworth’s arm continually re-opened with every fight, when he fell over a balcony he struggled to get up, he injured his leg and had a limp throughout the rest of the movie, etc.

I watched it a couple of nights ago. Although fairly action packed, I thought it was too derivative, and felt a little let down when it was over. Last night, I watched Bad Boys for Life, and enjoyed it much more....

Netflix is saying it's their biggest movie premiere, projected to be watched in 90 million households in 4 weeks.
