Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

So I am off of work for the next 2.5 weeks. The first two films I watched tonight were Life (the recent sci-fi flick) and Resident Evil: Afterlife 4K discs. I've got nothing but time going forward since I will be practicing my social distancing indoors. Ordered Standoff at Sparrow Creek in 4K digital, but will probably watch it in the morning.

I'm also planning on spinning some more vinyl and reading a shit ton of books.

Not stuck at home either. But I have plenty to watch on the weekend, too. Newer stuff is here with me but all my older stuff (1,500 discs) is in storage. I'll find out later today if they're even open.

WWE network has a released a 5 part documentary on the Ruthless Aggression era. It's excellent. I've also been watching their older Monday Night Wars documentary which is really good and long.

Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

Oddly enough, I haven't watched anything in the past few weeks.

The school I teach at had a prepared plan for Virtual Teaching if something like this ever happened. I am very fortunate to still be able to work (ala teach from home with a video communication program) while others around me can't.

Being inside a whole lot, due to the shelter-in-place order in both the county I live in but also work in, has made me incredibly tired after hours of staring at screens.

Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

I at least want t get through LOTR EE. The films are very special to me and got me through a time in my life when my father was terminally ill and things in general were pretty tense post-9/11 and during the Iraq war. (Remember hoarding duct tape?) Planning to finally check out my Matrix 4K set as well and a bunch of recent films like Jojo Rabbit.

Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

Started 3 days off yesterday, looked at what was coming up in the rotation, decided on a Stephen King Multi-Feature. Started watching Rose Red last night. Next up is Storm of the Century. Not all that interested in Desperation or Riding the Bullet right now. Between the 2 of them, that's over 500 minutes, which ought to get us through tomorrow. Then it's back to work...

Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

I’ve been catching up on movies for a podcast I listen to. I watched John Wick 2-3 the other day, Terminator Dark Fate and I’m working on The Other Side of the Wind.

Which podcast?

I just watched We Were Kings "from" Criterion. Not too shabby.

Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

Forum members are prepared for this with our massive DVD and Blu-ray collections and people thought we were crazy when we owned so many of them.

No one else has watched 12 Monkeys? I did. It’s a god damn trip watching it now.

Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

No increased viewing for us yet, wife and I work in hospitals so life is even busier. I’m sure we’ll both get it though, so that will likely lead to a couple binge weeks.

Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

Well, the kids turned on Frozen II on Disney+ so I guess my response would be GARBAGE.

I left after twenty minutes. Elsa's clearly the fifth spirit. The dam has to go down. Maybe it will turn into a bridge and the sisters are the bridge between the sins of the past and the bold future or each other or magic and humans or whatever. I went downstairs.

Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

Post Apocalyptic films are more interesting to watch right now so I checked out The Rover and after a shaky start, (suspension of disbelief was strained), I warmed up to it and enjoyed it overall.

After not watching anything for weeks, I watched Nemesis (1992), the first film in my new place!

Re-watched Infinity War/Endgame earlier. A fine double-feature for these times.

Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

I recommend the following on Netflix. It aired on The CW 4 years ago. It’s about a pandemic that breaks out in Atlanta after a killer virus is discovered. It’s 13 episodes and only lasted 1 season. It hits pretty close to home what’s happening now. I thought it was a good series that got overlooked because it aired into the summer that year.

Now it’s the #10 trending show on Netflix right now.

Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

Anyone ever watch Highlander: The Series? I watched the pilot and was kind of digging it. Stupid as all get out, but brought back that 90s fantasy series feeling. I'm surprised no one has made a go at a Xena/Hercules reboot, speaking of.

The series was always fun stuff. Highlander: The Raven, too.

Re: What are you watching during the pandemic?

Finally caught up with the annual "Kohaku Uta Gassen" NHK New Year's Eve music special from Japan. They usually have one American act, either live on stage with the Japanese acts or via remote from New York, but this year the act was there in Japan and Yoshiki, the famous rock star/classical pianist, got to play with his lifelong idols.
