Reviews are great so far!: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/bad_boys_for_life

Seeing this tomorrow night at 7. They have 4pm showings but I probably wouldn’t get there in time.

Stuckman liked the movie and he said fans of the first two movies will like it. He said its missing Michael Bay's influence and that makes me sad.

Yeah, this definitely has a "sound stage" look to it, where as we all know Bay will burn a city to the ground. But, it looks like fun and more character centric.

My favorite negative review so far: "Destined to be the un-watched disc in a Wal Mart value-pack. An overly safe sequel that lacks the inventiveness of its predecessors."

Paints a wonderful mental image.

A friend saw it last night and he loved it. Gave it 3.5 stars out of 5.

The red carpet premiere was last night in LA. So should definitely be seeing more reviews coming out. Promising start so far.

It's made up for Part 2 being overly indulgent and it's as fun as the first one. Great callbacks, too.

That should fit right in with the first two considering I don’t remember a damn thing about the plots of either of them. I do remember the action, at least for part two, though.

Yeah they weren't plot heavy. Drug dealers vs Bro cops.

Re: Bad Boys for Life (2020, D: El Arbi, Fallah) -- S: Smith & Lawrence -- The Reviews Thread -- Spoilers

I thought this was GREAT! Leaps and bounds better than the second.

I at Reggie still sticking around.

Props to Sony for not spoiling this movie. There are two big scenes that were completely unexpected and could have easily been in the trailer to show what the real plot of the movie was.

Really liked the AMMO team. Vanessa Hudgens was hot as was the team lead.

The action was really good. Loved the neon hues. Keep Michael Bay away from the next one... Or to cameo form like he was here.

I second Dex’s thoughts. A great time at the movies. Good action, funny, and well cast. I’d give it maybe a four out five stars. It might be the best of the three films. And yes, Paola Núñez, oh so hot in this.

Re: Bad Boys for Life (2020, D: El Arbi, Fallah) -- S: Smith & Lawrence -- The Reviews Thread -- Spoilers

I loved it. As mentioned, awesome action, very funny and I thought Smith and Lawrence were hilarious and had great chemistry as they did years ago.

The Ammo team was nice addition. Agree about the team leader. She's hot AF.

There was definitely some surprises and one that my theatre said...."Oh shit!!"

I was surprised they got Theresa Randle to play Mrs. Burnett. According to her IMDB, she hasn't worked in 10 years and this movie isn't listed in her profile.

I at the Michael Bay cameo

The Belgum boys did a really good job with this. If they do a Bad Boys 4, which they sort of teased, they hire them again.

Re: Bad Boys for Life (2020, D: El Arbi, Fallah) -- S: Smith & Lawrence -- The Reviews Thread -- Spoilers

Yeah, what some of you have said already -- the action was top notch and so was the humor. Paola Nuñez as the Ammo team leader is smoking hot.

As to what dex mentioned - props to Sony for not spoiling shit. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that they killed a character that was there since the beginning.. That was fucked up, but yet in the resolution of the film, there may be a redemption angle to it. On that, I am conflicted. I'm not ready for a redemption story arc - at least not from this franchise.

Quick question, I didn't stay for all of the mid-credit sequences except for the first two. The second one being when Mike goes to the prison cell. Were those the only two scenes or were there more?

Everyone in my theater laughed and clapped when Reggie showed up. It's funny that folks are still mortified to this day about the scenes with Reggie in part 2. Those are the funniest scenes in part 2. I'm really glad Bay didn't direct this film and I don't think he's directing part 4, just producing.

When I was watching it, I was like wow... they're really giving him more to do in this one. More of a mentor role. And then BAM. I was stunned, TBH.

True. I just couldn't fit a 6-month shoot in my schedule last year, just a cameo for me this time 'round.

It occurs to me I've never actually seen any of the Bad Boys movies. I don't think I'll start with this one, but if I had the chance to see the other two for free streaming or something I wouldn't be opposed to it.

Oh. Shoot. Now I feel obligated to watch them.

Am I in either of those two? At least the first one?

Oh, and If I had to rank the franchise I'd say it's:

BBFL
BB1
BB2

I think I'd agree. BB2 is the worst by far. BB1 I could rank at the top... but I think BBFL is just a better film overall.

96% audience score, Sony has to be happy about that.

My crowd seemingly loved it. I feel really odd being so hyped up on fucking Bad Boys 3.

Too bad their reboot of MIB couldn't be as good as BB and Jumanji.

Hmm, if I had a free night next week, I wonder if it's worth just going ahead and starting with this one. That could be interesting, working my way backwards on purpose!

You can watch this without having seen the 1st 2 movies. But, you'll miss some of the character development and nuances between Mike and Marcus. But, it's been 17 years since the last movie, so they had to make this stand alone.
