Since the final film of the "Multiverse Saga" is apparently going to be Avengers: Secret Wars, it looks like they might be gearing up for some kind of big crossover event between the various cinematic multiverses, and Deadpool 3 might be part of it.

It's entirely possible that Avengers: Secret Wars could be a huge crossover event between the MCU, the Fox X-Men, and the Sony Spiderman universes, with the end result being the MCU becomes a sort of hybrid where they pluck bits and pieces from the other universes and drop them into the MCU going forward into "Phase Seven."

Reynolds' Deadpool would, naturally, be one of the things they want to pluck.

Would Hugh Jackman be open to continue playing Wolverine in the MCU? Could Willem Dafoe end up being Norman Osborne in the MCU? (Those guys are kind of getting up there in age, so I don't know if they could continue playing these characters into their sixties and seventies.)

Agreed. That’s why I’m hoping the ties to the MCU are absolutely minimal. Like I said before I’d really rather this just be its own thing.

I think this is the only way that Jackman won't annoy me as Wolverine. I really really really disliked him in that role and I'm very much looking forward to seeing someone else take over for him, but I think him working as the straight man against Reynolds Deadpool could be fun.

A small part of me wants Ryan/Hugh to keep trolling fans and that this may be the way to introduce another actor as a variant Logan/Wolverine with Jackman's role as being very minimal.

I can't tell if this chemistry nonsense is real or not. They've done ads together, talk shows, and countless social media videos. They're fantastic together.

As for the news, as someone still clinging to the Fox X-men and dreading whatever homogenized nonsense Disney's going to turn X-men into, this is amazing news. I think the only play here is that Deadpool and Jackman's Wolverine will come out of the multiverse. Maybe not as involved as speculated above, but just a quick way to explain it away and give Jackman a sendoff while bringing Deadpool into the MCU.

Logan was such a great capper on Jackson playing the character but I am down for him coming back if only to see the two characters on the screen.

They do this as a fake-out to introduce the actor playing the MCU version of Wolverine.
