I can't wait for the sequels:
Rise of the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
Dawn of the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
War of the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

Re: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024, D: Wes Ball)

There's some great title potential in the various PoTA comics series over the years -
Betrayal of the Planet of the Apes
Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes
Terror on the Planet of the Apes
Revolution on the Planet of the Apes
Exile on the Planet of the Apes

I was just thinking, when the last trilogy was starting up, we brainstormed a bunch of possible titles in a thread here but I donít know how to find that.

Love it, I assume this should lead up to the third film in this trilogy being a remake of the classic Tim Burton film Planet of the Apes?

The very last scene will be the discovery of a statue of Mark Wahlberg, made of plastic and buried in the dust of an old Radio Shack store.

If they have a good story and keep the production values as high as the last series, this will be awesome. I always liked the classic POTA movies, but the last trilogy showed how to update a series to current "standards" the right way.

Re: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024, D: Wes Ball)

Dominion Kingdom takes place four years after Isla Nublar the world has been destroyed. Dinosaurs Apes now live - and hunt - alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history's most fearsome creatures.

... or something like that.

Tales of the Planet of the Apes

I was looking for a picture ... is the Planet of the Apes figure really the only Mark Wahlberg action figure?!

Re: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024, D: Wes Ball)

EXCLUSIVE: William H. Macy is joining 20th Century’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes starring Owen Teague, Freya Allan and Peter Macon. Wes Ball is on board to direct. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes starts an all-new chapter in the Apes saga, picking up many years after the conclusion of 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes. The screenplay is by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and Patrick Aison. Joe Hartwick Jr, Jaffa, Silver and Jason Reed are the film’s producers, with Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping exec producing.

It is unknown who Macy will be playing in the pic.

Especially to an otherwise unremarkable cast.

Neither the director nor cast get me excited so my expectations are not high, which may be a good thing.

I mean, I don't watch these for the humans, that's for sure. Woody Harrelson was a fun addition to the last one, but I need the ape characters to be the ones doing the work.

Re: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024, D: Wes Ball)

Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic, franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is directed by Wes Ball (the “Maze Runner” trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Macy (“Fargo”). The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”) and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Avatar: The Way of Water”) and Patrick Aison (“Prey”), based on characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and the producers are Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr. (“The Maze Runner”), Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Jason Reed (“Mulan”), with Peter Chernin (the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy) and Jenno Topping (“Ford v. Ferrari”) serving as executive producers.

Looks great! (I had my doubts) This one really seemed to fly under the radar, we never heard much about filming, production, etc.

Footage looks good. But promoting a movie that doesn’t come out for 6 more months is a little early.

I suspect it has more to do with the paucity of upcoming releases thanks to the dueling strikes than it does with Disney's enthusiasm about this new movie.
