Re: 2020 Oscar Pre-award show discussion, nominees, etc.
I haven't seen the film, but did Tom Hanks not get a lot of screen time as Mr. Rogers? They're positioning him for supporting actor. I could understand if there were another actor, you don't want to split the vote (see Leo and Brad Pitt). But the guy who played the reporter doesn't seem to be drawing any awards buzz.

Re: 2020 Oscar Pre-award show discussion, nominees, etc.
So DeNiro doesn't get a Globe or a SAG nomination. That's a bit of a surprise (Though you have a lot of good performers fighting for two slots since Driver, Phoenix and DeCaprio are mortal locks)
I guess Lupita is the Best Actress front runner now?

That would be awesome, but sadly Lupita isn't even a lock for a nomination. Think it's Renee Zellwegger running away winning

Re: 2020 Oscar Pre-award show discussion, nominees, etc.
Best Use of Music is the oddest category I've ever seen, but makes me think of other potential odd-ball awards you could give; like
Best Depiction of Food (Winner: Parasite, Downton Abbey tie),
Outstanding Vintage Cars (Winner: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood),
Best Movie with a Surprisingly Shitty Trailer (Winner: Knives Out.)

We're just in a slow period in which things shut down a bit for the holidays. The groups that were going to announce their noms/winners before the end of the year have already done so, so we're waiting on those that announce the following year (Oscars, DGA, PGA).

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, A Marriage Story (In the Original Screenplay category). One of those two will win.
Edit : Or Bong Joon Ho for Parasite. That could win as well (though foreign language films face a steep uphill battle in this category)
