Having spent three hours on a bus with 4-5 year old kids this week, I can tell you that the new songs are definitely resonating with the kids.

Re: Frozen 2 (Buck, Lee 2019) - Review Thread (spoilers)

Finally caught up with this one over the weekend. Liked the first one a lot; this one, not so much. The sequel is a good example of when you have TOO much plot for your own good. The first one was fun because the story was rather simplistic and they had time to have a lot of fun with the characters. This one was really bogged down with a story that really didn't add up to a whole lot. As for the songs, far less memorable as well, although I did like "Into the Unknown" and "Lost in the Woods".

I felt Frozen 2 made a strong case to revive the 90s-honored tradition of straight-to-video Disney sequels. The first one was fine and took the Disney story formula and gave it some twists here and there. This one was trying to do too much, but was still somehow by-the-numbers, and felt so much like "Hey, you guys liked the first Frozen, right? Remember how you liked that one?"
