Aaron Eckhart stars as Frank Penny, a disgraced cop looking for a shot at redemption. When the police chief’s 11-year-old daughter is abducted, Frank goes rogue to try and save her. But to find the girl, Frank will need the help of Ava Brooks (Courtney Eaton), whose live-streaming news channel is broadcasting Frank’s every move. While a city watches, Frank and Ava race against time in this explosive action-thriller.
The movie also stars Courtney Eaton (Mad Max: Fury Road), Jessica Lu (Awkward.), Dina Meyer (Starship Troopers), and Emmy nominee Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul).

Opened on Friday in limited theatres and is also on VOD.
So far, 67% of RT with a few reviews.
Brian O, the reviewer on the other site and who normally trashes these kinds of movies, actually gave it a moderate recommendation.
I had a $2 credit on Vudu, so I went ahead and rented this for $5. I'll try to watch it soon.

The positive reviews are interesting considering the premise sounds eye-rollingly stupid.
Trailer didn’t do much for me either.

It's Saban/Lionsgate. These Lionsgate releases play in like 5 theatres and go to VOD and then BD a month or so later.

So I finally watched my rental with 2 days to spare.
And wow, this was surprisingly a lot of fun. Lots of action and it had a break neck pace. It almost felt like it had a real time element as well like 24.
I didn't mind the live streaming internet video part, because that was an integral part of the plot. And Ben McKenzie was a fun psychopath. Courtney Eaton is cute and she's super tall. 5 feet 11.

Reviews are kind of surprising considering it's from the same director of several bad Lionsgate titles (including Escape Plan 2).
