Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023, D: Reed)
The Ant-Man corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will continue to be Peyton Reed’s Place. The director, who helmed 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, has signed on to helm a third Ant-Man movie, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Paul Rudd is expected to return as Scott Lang, the heist-hearting hero with the power of petiteness in the new installment. It would be Rudd's fifth time out as the character, barring any other surprise appearances.
Plot details are being kept hidden in the Quantum Realm.
No release details have been confirmed but sources say the plan is to shoot at the end of 2020 or top of 2021 for a likely release in 2022. Sources say that sequels Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder will shoot before Ant-Man 3.
Much like his fellow Marvel cohorts Joe and Anthony Russo, Reed started off in the comedy worlds of TV and movies, making his feature directorial debut with cheerleading comedy Bring It On. Movies such as Down with Love, The Break-Up and Yes Man followed.
He was brought into the Marvel universe when, late in the movie’s development process, he replaced Edgar Wright to helm Ant-Man. The movie grossed $519.3 million. The sequel, which Reed was more involved with, grew to a $622.6 million gross.
Reed is repped by WME and Sloane Offer.

I’m down for all Marvel movies. Yet, Ant-Man and Wasp only one I didn’t see in theaters for some reason. I’ll see this in theaters most likely. Very entertaining franchise. More comic relief than any other hero thus far...

I’m totally in for a third. I think the first two movies are just plain fun. Here’s to a few more. Rudd owns it and you can tell.

The two Ant-Man films are some of my favorites in the MCU despite not being the most popular ones to a lot of fans. Always have been a fan of Paul Rudd and the films are fun. Definitely in for a third and glad it’s being made as I wasn’t quite sure it’d happen.

I’m glad they decided he was worthy of a third stand-alone flick.

I hope it isn't called Ant-Man 3.
It should be Ant-Man, The Wasp, and _______. (Goliath? Giant-Man? Giant-Girl? Maybe Scott's daughter will get a costume and codename, too?)

First one was okay, didn't care much for the second (didn't hate it, however). But have had no desire to see any of them in the theater, for me waiting to see on Blu-ray or 4K is fine.

I probably prefer the first but like the second as well. I liked the team element of the second, even though it sort of feels like The Wasp outshines Ant-Man at times.

I guess I'm the only one that wanted a Luis (Michael Pena) recap of the events before Avengers: Endgame. Yeah it would have changed the tone in the beginning but that would've been hilarious.

Ant-Man is fun. Plus, it has The Rudd. Pfeiffer and Lilly don't hurt, either. I'm always up for more.

re: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023, D: Reed)
Ant-Man's world just got a little bigger.
Jeff Loveness, a writer/co-producer on Cartoon Network’s acclaimed Rick and Morty, has been tapped to pen the script for the third installment of Marvel Studio’s Ant-Man.
Peyton Reed, who directed the previous two installments, 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, is back as director, having closed his deal last fall.
Paul Rudd is expected to return as Scott Lang, the heist-hearting hero with the power of petiteness in the new installment. Evangeline Lilly will also be back as his stinging cohort, the Wasp.
The deal was wrapped up in the early days of Hollywood’s shutdown, according to sources, and Loveness has already commenced writing.
Marvel has yet to publicly announce the project and seeing as writing is just getting underway, it is unclear when the third Ant-Man outing would shoot. Sequels Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder were slated to shoot this year but the coronavirus pandemic has thrown all of Hollywood’s production schedule upside down. On Friday, Disney reshuffled the release dates of its movie slate, pushing back the series of Marvel films known as Phase 4.
Loveness is known for his comedy work, having gotten his start writing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! On top of several seasons’ worth of the late-night show, he also worked on the Oscars, the Emmys and the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. He wrote on TBS’ Daniel Radcliffe-starring series Miracle Workers.
Loveness has some Marvel experience having written comics centering on such characters as Spider-Man, Groot and Nova, among others, for the publishing powerhouse.
He is repped by LBI Entertainment.

EXCLUSIVE: After a star-making turn in HBO’s hit series Lovecraft Country, Jonathan Majors is now ready to make his mark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a big way. Majors has been tapped for one of the lead roles in the next Ant-Man movie opposite Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily. The studio had no comment, but sources close to the project say he is likely to play the super-villain Kang the Conqueror.
Sources add that like with so many new characters in the MCU, there could be a twist with how the character is featured in future films, but as of now he is likely to be one of the main villains in the next installment in the franchise.
