I, until just now, either totally forgot, which when it comes to movie shit, doesn’t usually happen or just had no idea...I had no clue that Paul Verhoeven did Total Recall (1990).

Of course most known for Robocop, Starship Troopers and the bomb, Showgirls, but this and then looking up, but think I knew he did Hollow Man and why I saw in theater, had no idea.

Sometimes, I just get so surprised. Pleasantly most of the time.

His newer, more mature stuff like Elle and to a lesser degree, Tricked, have been so good, though different of course.

Glad he’s still around.

Being a huge fan of his since I was a kid watching Ghostbusters, I had no idea that Harold Ramis directed The Ice Harvest.

Sometimes the movies are so different, you have no clue.
An accomplished director that comes to mind is Kathryn Bigelow.
I knew her for Point Break, didn't know she went on to direct Hurt Locker, or had done the horror film Near Dark.

I didn't know Spielberg directed Poltergeist until a few years ago.

I prefer his Dutch films of the 70's and early 80's (Rutger Hauer was in 3 of them).
