As far as casting goes, I'd never in a million years have cast Jamie Foxx as Electro or Mickey Rourke as Whiplash

How have I never heard of Hero at Large? It's going on my list.
But, on subject, Hugo Weaving is a head scratcher for me. Not surprised he didn't return for the Avengers movies, though.

This was super surprising, because I have no idea why? Plus there was the fact that it was in theaters the same time as Mary Poppins Returns which didn't have Andrews.
I also don't get casting Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper when they did it, though both are awesome.

Julie Delpy in Age of Ultron. I think she even said something to the extent of "You would never previously find me in any of these kind of movies" at the film's premier on the red carpet.

It probably doesn't seem weird now, but it probably seemed weird for Jack Nicholson to be cast in Batman. Of course at that time, Michael Keaton was the bigger casting shocker.

Pacino said in 2014 he would be game for a Marvel or Superhero movie but I have not seen him in any so far

I remember for all those old Batman films, the casting choices were almost bigger news than the movies themselves. I remember rumors of Michael J. Fox as Robin and Robin Williams as the Riddler prior to Batman Forever being made.
And in hindsight, it’s a little strange to think of George Clooney being Batman.
