I'm beating myself up because I broke down and bought a $3 bag of frozen French fries, because the 1.69 bag (for 32oz) I usually buy was sold out. I don't know if I could handle the trauma of a $20 rental.

I may actually bite on this one and take the hit. I want to see it. But at this cost it sucks that it's rental only... Should offer a "buy option" at a higher cost of course.

Utterly delightful interview with Betty Gilpin in the Sunday New York Times. I had never heard of her before reading reviews of THE HUNT and have never seen her in anything, but she's genuinely smart and funny.

She's one of the leads on GLOW via Netflix.

Buy some discounted AMC e-gift cards and try their on demand app. That will shave a few bucks off.

I saw this at the theater the day before they shut down. It was a hell of a lot of fun and a lot of surprises I didn't expect towards the beginning. But, I'm glad I watched it and am glad it finally got a release.

Okay I gave in. It was great. Betty Gilpin was awesome. Good mix of social satire and some horror/action. It also had quite a few very funny moments.

Saw this last night at an actual Drive-In Theater!

Felt the same way about the script.

Betty Gilpin definitely is the glue that holds this entire film together. That and a few hilarious death scenes.

I thought this would have been on Hulu* or Prime* by now, so I decided to blind-buy it at Wally World (With their disappearing media aisles) a few days ago and watched it earlier for the October challenge. While the similarly-themed Ready or Not had me completely bored by the first kill, I fell completely in love with this one!!

*Watch, I'm sure it'll pop up on HBO next saturday...But I'm perfectly fine with this purchase!

Had this in my Netflix queue and had the Blu-ray delivered last week. Popped it in on Friday and barely remembered the controversy, etc. when it came out. Violent but but fun movie.

Re: The Hunt (2020, D: Zobel) S: Gilpin, Swank, Suplee, Howerton, Barinholtz, Roberts

This is playing on Cinemax now so I gave it a watch. I thought it was fun as hell. The satire stuff seems over blown to me. This movie’s message didn’t seem to be anything mind blowing and the “liberal elites vs. deplorables” didn’t seem to be anything beyond a topical twist to put on The Most Dangerous Game.

Agree with those who thought Betty Gilpin was great in this. I have heard her name but I’ve never actually seen her in anything. I thought she was totally badass in this.

Now time for a crossover of The Hunt and Ready or Not with Gilpin and Samara Weaving teaming up!

This popped up for me on HBO Max today. I'd heard nothing but terrible things about this (I didn't read this thread) and while the "message" was the most ham-fisted thing ever, damn if I didn't watch the whole thing with a smile. Betty Gilpin is great and I loved how the people I thought were the stars of this movie just...weren't.

Worth the 90 minutes for sure!

Yeah, I rented it a while ago but will watch it again on HBO. I have to admit that after this movie, I’ve never quite looked at

I hope this movie gets a second life on cable/streaming. It was dealt a couple shitty hands on its theatrical release and deserves to be seen.

IMO, one of the few bright spots of 2020 movies.

You know I saw beginning, saw it was quirky, looked fun. Swank was a great baddie, but didn’t get too far for one reason or another. I have it, so really should give it a go again…
