And considering movies are a passion of MINE, I don’t mind saying it’s pretty snowflakey to get a movie pulled because they disagree with the premise. Even moreso when they go after it sight unseen and are most likely mistaken about the premise.
I don’t know if I have much interest in seeing this movie either way but it still makes me mad that a studio folded to pressure from a vocal minority.

Ok, I wasn't aware of this movie until the controversy, so I checked out the trailer. Now I'm super confused...why is the right losing their shit about this? The movie has liberal "elites" as the villains and "red state" Americans as the heroes. It plays like the wet dream for those folks. If anything, I'd expect the left fo be complaining...so what's the problem?

Hmmm. I lean more right myself, but I don't see what the big deal is... I wouldn't mind seeing it. It's been done before many times. The Most Dangerous Game, Surviving the Game, etc. It looked kind of fun from the trailer.

^ Which is even crazier considering I just watched Motherless Brooklyn and Suplee was still looking pretty heavy. That was only filmed in 2018.

With Coronavirus caution setting in this week, this film just can't catch a break, eh?
I've got a ticket to see it this weekend, but there's barely any seats sold. Either no one cares about the movie (fair), or they want to avoid crowds (also fair), or a combination of both. Either way, looks like it's destined to fail.

They shouldn't have moved it in the first place.
I'll see it tonight.
I forgot this was from the director of Compliance. Man... that fucking movie pissed me off! Z For Zachariah I enjoyed though.

I was going to see this, but the friend that I see movies with wants to put it off (at least a week or two) to see how things shake out virus-wise. The studios have cleaned off our Movie calendar for the rest of March and April.

I saw it last night. A bit of a mixed bag. First and foremost, if it wasn't obvious...this is a satire. So, I would expect a good portion of people to just not like it.
The hunt aspect was good and well directed. The violence was gruesome, but sometimes too cartoon-ish. I didn't think the script and social commentary is as smart as it thinks it is. But it is of the times...
Betty Gilpin is fucking awesome in this. The fight with her and Swank was

This was dumb fun, that's the best way to describe it. Those two stunt doubles for Swank and Gilpin took a beating filming that final action scene. Brutal.
Also, lay off the cheeseburgers Macon Blair. Can't believe how fat he's gotten. Jesse Plemons-eque in that weight gain.

This had its moments, but the satire wasn't witty enough to adequately fill in the time between the gory action scenes and the storyline started to get redundant after a while.
The movie reminded me of You're Next (minus the political satire), in that

It was a fun flick. Brutal kills and some good humor (the cigarettes line was top-tier). Gilpin is amazing. I'd recommend it and rewatch it just for her.
I don't really know what the 'message' is supposed to be other than 'but civility', though. Basically, a movie for centrists to feel seen, I guess.
Still pretty damn entertaining.

I was mildly interested in this and had booked a ticket for tomorrow night last week. I guess I should have seen it over the weekend.

For a $22 a month sunk cost, seeing things like the Hunt are kind of no brainers. Not so much for $20 one time rental fees.
