Well, didn't they open the door for both Thor Jane and Beta Ray Bill?

Serious Thor is boring (Dark World is my least-favorite MCU movie). Count me in on Team Fat Thor.

I'm sure Thor Four (4Hor Th4?) will be even more of a broad farce than Ragnarok. NTTAWWT

I just hope they don't go all "minion" with Korg and over use him.

I’m not all that pumped to have Thor in GoG 3 since I think that team is great as is. I am however looking forward to this news. I loved Ragnarok and will continue to hope we see Beta Ray Bill.

I assumed that because of the reception to Dark World + the success of GotG is why they switched it up. But I don't think serious Thor was the reason why Dark World isn't well regarded. It was just a below average film. Compared to the first one, it's day and night in quality.

I like the first Thor movie. Dark World just wasn't very exciting or good.

This. Thor is not a great character. I loved Ragnarok as well.

For me, Ragnarok feels too much like an Austin Powers flick. Fun junk food flick for some, but has nothing to offer in cinematic sustenance.

It’s not like any superhero movie is much above that. They’re awesome fun, relax and turn off your brain.

Called it. Though it sounds like Hemsworth will still be in this.

Can't wait to see Natalie Portman get all jacked and musclebound for the role.

re: Thor: Love and Thunder (2021, D: Waititi) - News, Cast, Rumors

I just started reading the Jane Foster as Thor collected volumes about a month ago- Loving it so far, though I'm taking my time to savor them. I'm only about five or six issues in.

Great choice for source material as far as I'm concerned! I just wonder how Waititi's penchant for tonal irreverence will mesh with this material - unless they won't be going with Jane having a terminal disease.

Fuck yes that’s awesome! Can’t wait to see Portman take on that role.

*cue the “how could she even lift that hammer?” brigade.

Very much looking forward to Portman coming back to this world under Waititi’s direction.

Saw this comment on Gizmodo from someone and laughed my ass off:

Love and Thunder is a good title, but if they included Beta Ray Bill and Thunderstrike in the film, that means they could have officially called it Thor Four: Four Thors, dammit.

Re: Thor: Love and Thunder (2021, D: Waititi) - News, Cast, Rumors

Just the title alone makes me want to see it. I would have thought they would have eschewed the 80s style lettering for something new, but then I figured it's appropriate. It's reminiscent of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
I don't want to see Natalie Portman as Lady Thor but apparently that's how it went in the comics. It's just that this is the first image I saw of Lady Thor back in the day:

and Natalie Portman is short and petite. And she was boring in the first two Thor movies. She doesn't fit the image of a valkyrie to me.

On a side note, I didn't like how Thor conceded the throne to Valkyrie. But that's kind of true to Marvel's approach to Norse mythology as well as Marvel's style itself. They keep it fresh. If Love & Thunder is as good as Ragnarok this is going to end up being one hell of a trilogy.

Re: Thor: Love and Thunder (2021, D: Waititi) - News, Cast, Rumors

I'm wondering how long Marvel knew and had Waititi working on this while WB shit the bed with Akira? It was announced only 2 days before the Marvel panel and Thor 4 not only had a title (Love and Thunder), but they also acquired Natalie as well?
