Why So Blu? 10-28-19 05:10 PM

Re: 1970s/80s Siskel & Ebert Episodes

I wish they would post the Species review. Siskel loved the movie but Ebert did not. The exchange was hilarious because Ebert was like this film just has breasts (Natasha Henstridge's breasts) everywhere and Siskel was all like "I love breasts" -- it's not on youtube, but I will never forget it.

Martin Scorsese's recent comments slamming the Marvel movies as theme park rides not real cinema reminded me of this old clip of Siskel & Ebert appearing on Nightline in 1983 to defend the original trilogy Star Wars movies from a film snob who said they were just terrible children's movies.

Ebert: “Were (the children) dumber than they needed to be?” Fucking GOLD!!!

And Ebert’s Species review could be my review for the new IT films.
