Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home (Watts, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I liked it, it was basically fun but I didn't care much for the middle act, seemed a bit overdone with the "holographic attack" part intersecting with reality. That part for some reason just seemed to fall a bit flat and took me out of the movie for some reason, maybe a bit too trite or overdone. I liked the beginning and the ending was decent but some of the middle part just didn't do it for me. I did laugh at the Led Zep line, but I have too many questions about people being snapped back. Also I would have liked to see more of the immediate aftermath of them coming back instead of coming in a few months later. The trailer seemed like it would start as school resumed.. I give it 3/5, nothing I need to re-watch but something I would re-watch on a rainy day perhaps.

According to Box Office Mojo it's up to $975 million thru Monday 7/22. Can't wait for the 3rd MCU movie.

I think the soonest we'll get one will be summer 2022. Marvel has a full slate in 2020 and 2021.

That's a cool idea, I suppose it could still. He never wore the glasses in the same scene with Fury. Then again, would Stark even be let in on the fact that Skrulls exist? I don't see Fury sharing that info.

Is it coincidental that both 'insect' based hero's in the MCU have the more small scale movies with a healthy dose of humour and lightheartedness? They should totally do a Marvel Team-Up!

Spiders aren't insects though.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home (Watts, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I walked in 5 minutes late, unfortunately, so I missed all the funny blip stuff. Maybe I'll see it later on Netfl-- oh.

I liked it, though a lot of what Dr. Mantle wrote mirrors some of my thoughts overall. I meant to rate 3.5 stars and accidentally hit 4, oh well. It was good, I had fun, but I liked parts more than the whole.

I really enjoyed seeing Peter be Spider-Man in his civilian clothes and no mask, that was awesome. I like that now that his identity has been revealed for him (opposite of Tony Stark), I'm not sure where it takes thel next and I like that. I thought they found a great way to explain how Mysterio can be Mysterio. Comic book explanations for powers like his simply don't work on the big screen, but this tech explanation really worked for me.

Tom Holland is a good Spider-Man and a good Peter Parker, and that takes a lot.

I agree, and I'm very glad I wasn't spoiled on that!

finally got around to seeing this. not sure how far the bit in the mid credit scene would go, he'll just get the surviving avengers to vouch for him that he'd never do that.
can't wit to see where the end credit scene leads us even though I am having a little MCU fatigue

Is this available for streaming anywhere other than Starz? Been re-watching a bunch of the Marvel films on Disney; I haven't seen this since it first came out in theaters.

Thanks. Was hoping it was on one of the many services I already pay for/have set up.

I can share it to you but I don’t know how.

Looks like it might not be eligible.

lol...I've already seen the movie; just wanted to revisit it like I've been doing with other Marvel films.

And of course I buy the disc the day before the announcement of Spidey films coming to Disney+
