Summer camp at Rim of the World has barely begun when four misfit teenagers — Alex, ZhenZhen, Dariush, and Gabriel — find they’ve got bigger problems to face than learning how to canoe and climb ropes when aliens suddenly invade the planet. Alone in a campground once teeming with people, the kids are unexpectedly entrusted with a key that carries the secret to stopping the invasion. Without any adults or electronics to help guide the way, it’s clear what they must do: band together, conquer their fears, and save the world.

Rim Of The World invades May 24, only on Netflix.

Eh, it sounds interesting but McG is as shitty of a director as his name would lead you to believe so I’ll wait for reviews before I waste my time.

The Babysitter was fun.

Looks fun and The Babysitter was cool as hell.

The Babysitter was much better than it deserved to be. I'm in on this.

Yeah the Babysitter kicked ass. But as I did for that one I will probably wait for some feedback here first.

I'll give it a go too.
And, yeah, The Babysitter rocked. :)

Bleh... I thought this was terrible. The kids were way too annoying. Especially one in particular.

A friend texted me and said it had way too many cliche stereotypes - trying to be edgy and all. I have not seen it yet.

That would be accurate. A lot in poor taste.

OK, so this attempt at a modern day updating of The Goonies doesn't work?

This is nothing like The Goonies, nor does it look anything like it.

So it falls into every trap that Stranger Things avoids. Pass.

This felt like another Netflix bailout. I know they’re producing some greats from Coen Bros and Scorsese. But a lot of their stuff is just a new version of DTV movies - unworthy of theatrical release.

I watched the whole thing, waiting for a few good moments. Yikes.

Wow, sad. I haven’t watched yet but thought the trailer was great.

My Wife: "I heard about this scary movie called 'Rim of the World' on Netflix...wanna watch?
Me: "Sure..."(after trying to figure out if Chernobyl is on Sunday nights and seeing that it's not)
My Wife: (starts movie)
Me: (Uh oh..seems like a edgy Kid Flick with no real scary shit)
My Wife: "...this movie kinda weird" (Her code for, this is boring or I don't like it so far)
Me: Well, it's only 15min in and they are introducing us to characters.
My Wife: Yeah, well...
Me: Does it get scary?
My Wife: I hear it does...
Me: ...
My Wife: (dozed off)
Me: Sigh...
My Wife: wakes up. You can turn it off.
Me: (Thinking...That was a damn waste. Now it's too late to start anything else because I have to work tomorrow FUUUUCK!!!)

Rim of the World

Saw this last night. Special effects were terrible. Cast was terrible. Script was terrible. Acting was terrible. But a 9 year old might like it.

What a POS. The Babysitter was way better. Plus, as dex already mentioned; that one kid was so fucking annoying....

Re: Rim of the World (2019, D: McG) -- Netflix

I watched this maybe a week or so back and I almost did not due to this threads comments and yeah, I would say two kids were miscast, and the scene where they let the dude out of prison for no reason just to have him turn on them....so dumb.

A case where I would have liked the film more if some of the main cast was not as annoying as folks on the web said they are (I kept thinking, c’mon....the kids can’t be that big of a turn-off in the film, but nope...they were, including the kid who was on the short lived but great sitcom The Kids Are Alright).

Some of the action was cool, but this was nothing like The Babysitter which was a real pleasant surprise.
