I liked Get Shorty.

Oh yeah, I did too. Not the sequel though.

Be Cool was horrible. Travolta made some good movies with his comeback, besides the ones mentioned, I liked Broken Arrow, A Civil Action and Primary Colors. He built up all this good will then destroyed it with his vanity project.

Vanity project? You mean Battlefield Earth, right? Be Cool was the studio's idea.

Re: It Was 20 Years Ago Today... (1999 Nostalgia)

I was referring to projects like Michael, Phenomenon, A Civil Action and Broken Arrow (and a little later Swordfish). Not bad movies, but certainly nothing special. None of them really tapped into what was interesting or charming about Travolta (unlike Face/Off and Get Shorty, which both did).

Battlefield Earth is something completely different altogether. Obviously.

Big Daddy

Was this peak comedic Sandler? Huge hit, funny, had some touching moments. I feel like everything started to go down hill after this.

I'd say Big Daddy was the best of his 90's films. Happy Gilmore will always be my favorite but BD was a better film.

Happy Gilmore will always be my favorite Adam Sandler movie and his movies are always a guilty pleasure for me. I haven't seen his most hated movies like Jack and Jill or Little Nicky, but I have 50 First Dates, Just Go with It and That's my Boy in my collection.

Wedding Singer felt like the highest quality movie of his 90s output.

Happy Gilmore and Wedding Singer are his only two fresh live action comedies. I was shocked to see that Big Daddy was at 40%.

They are his only good movies. Those and Punch Drunk Love. That’s it.

I might add Shakes the Clown and Airheads, though neither was a "Sandler film" as he was not the central character in those.

I actually enjoy Spanglish, but a lot of people do not. It’s only 53% on Rotten Tomatoes. Polarizing film.

Click is a brilliant premise that should have been a slam dunk, but they screwed it up.

I've also never seen it, but have heard that Reign Over Me is a pretty good film. Still, Punch Drunk Love is his best film but that's due to PTA running the ship.

Sandler is legitimately great in PDL. Wasn't crazy about Spanglish, didn't see Reign Over Me. I thought he was really good in The Meyerowitz Stories.

I've never seen Spanglish. One of my best friend's ex-gf's was a consultant on that film to make it more "Latino" friendly in the Spanish portions or some shit.

I think the ending is similar in tone to Family Man (which I also happen to like). Plus Kate Beckinsale.

Click is basically SCROOGE/A CHRISTMAS CAROL without Xmas.
