:(

I was supposed to attend a Convention out in Sacramento, CA that he was appearing at 2-years ago but couldn't make it.

One of my most favorite Audio Commentary moments involved him. It's rare to hear a surprise twist in a commentary track

RIP, Mr. Cohen. The recent documentary about him (I think it's still on Shudder) is excellent.

I also like that one a lot. Yaphet Kotto is the man.

^I agree. He's an exceptional character actor.

Re: RIP Larry Cohen

Best thing was how prolific Cohen was. If he wasn't directing his own movie, he was selling scripts to various studios (he once said that he pretty much always has a box load of unsold scripts in the trunk of his car). He was also so generous with his time, doing multiple commentaries and interviews for various releases of movies he was involved in (I think it helps that he was a notoriously fast writer, so I think he once said he'll wake up early, write in the morning, then have his afternoon largely free).

My favourites of his were God Told Me To, Q: The Winged Serpent, and It's Alive...Like others have mentioned, I also really like the Maniac Cop stuff he wrote...And he did one of the best episodes of the underrated horror anthology series Masters of Horror...called Pick-Me Up...

Wow. I just stared watching his movies last month. Bone, Got Told Me To, Q: The Winged Serpent, and The Stuff. And Cellular whch he wrote. Then the King Cohen documentary.

Very prolific writer, too. Directed 20 films but wrote about 50.

RIP. Always enjoyed his movies. First one I remember watching was Q and then went through his entire catalog 20+ years ago while in high school. :rip:

A lot of his stuff (including The Stuff and a documentary on him) is on Shudder. I’ll be watching it during our April Challenge.
