John Carl Buechler 1952-2019

He may have not been a household name, but to horror fans he was a pretty big deal.

RIP. Quite a shame he was never able to see a (Cleaned-up) print of his Director's Cut for Friday 7.

Too young to go, and well-deserving of more respect than he got. RIP

For fans of schlock, yes.

I only wish he could have done a director's cut of Friday the 13th part 7 and I'll always laugh when drank his own piss in Hatchet. RIP

The name struck me as familiar, and then I opened this thread. And it hit me. His wife is my 2nd cousin, although we've never met in real life. Very sad

His creations had a look and "feel" that was distinctly his, and I am a big fan of nearly all of his '80s and early '90s output. Even if the films were bad, his creatures were fun to watch. I had the chance to work with Kane Hodder recently and he told a few great stories of John and the F13th VII set. Tough way to go but he leaves a solid legacy.
