The 1978 horror film I Spit on Your Grave is one of the most controversial films in the genre, a disturbing depiction of a woman who is raped by multiple assailants and ultimately enacts her revenge upon her tormentors. Writer/director of the original film Meir Zachi has shared the trailer and first poster for the film's direct sequel, I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu, which debuts on April 23rd.

I knew there was a documentary being made about the first movie, but I never knew of this. Interesting.

Looks kinda hacky. The remake and it's sequels were played straight and fairly well done, all things considered, particularly the second one, but this just looks 90's shot-on-video cheap. Mind you Zarchi's 82 and hasn't directed anything since 1985, so perhaps this is the best one could expect. Still, Maria Olsen in that goofy military get-up doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Jamie Bernadette is a half-decent (and decent-looking) actress who seems better than a lot of the crap she appears in.
I wonder if the film itself will be as padded with footage from the original as that trailer is.

Not sure how I feel about this, even though I enjoy both the 1978 film and the 2010 remake.
