That will probably be the results except Original Screenplay will probably be The Favourite instead.
I keep saying that even though Roma is the clear BP favorite, I could see something more commercially appealing and not backed by Netflix winning instead. I just don't know which movie it will be. Maybe Green Book, maybe Bohemian Rhapsody. With preferential ballots, you just don't know what will happen if enough people don't want a Streaming service to win the biggest award in cinema.

Good show and didn't mind the lack of host. Everything moved quickly because of it.
So glad Shallows won and I totally ship those two, who looked like they were about to kiss right there .
Also proud of into the spider-verse win, which blew me away in theaters.

Green Book.
An important movie if it had been made 50 years ago.
A Oscar-worthy movie if it had been made 30 years ago.
A movie that you would recommend to senior citizens if it had been made 10-20 years ago.
A solid piece of entertainment, but completely disposable, today.

I'll wait for the remake of Green Book where they portray the story as it actually happened.

So they got the show under 3:30, which is a major achievement, but the whole thing was three hours of blah. A few nice moments and welcome wins, but completely forgettable.

I haven’t seen Green Book so I dunno, although I was really hoping BlackKK would win.
Doing it it without a host was a BIG plus - moved better, and less dire “skits” and filler. I don’t think they even had as much filler this year - no tributes to Russian cinema of the 1950s or America’s greatest musicals or the like. Dunno how the ratings were but it definitely felt like a more streamlined work.

Yeah, no problem with Green Book winning. It'll get the inevitable "it's not best picture worthy," and maybe it's not .. but Viggo absolutely killed it, in a role that easily could've been too broad.

I liked Green Book and especially Mortensen and Ali's performances, but her criticism of the movie is not wrong.

BTW : I saw Chris Evans in the front row and knew this was supposed to be an Avengers- themed show. Did he ever present? I don't remember him on stage (except for when he gallantly helped get Regina King safely to the podium).

Remember when Green Book won Best Picture? Man, that choice did not age well.

I knew it was just a matter of time before one of the Farrelly brothers won an Oscar.

The most shocking part was when Reggie Miller scores 8 points in the last 9 seconds to rob Spike Lee of a Best Director Oscar.

HA! Same here. I made plans a bunch of times to see it, as it has been in theaters in Vancouver for at least 2-3 months. But I just couldn't pull the trigger. I feel like I know exactly what the movie will be, beat for beat for beat.

Decent enough show.
-I guess I'm probably a racist for noticing this, but there were an inordinate amount of black presenters tonight. The Academy obviously still feeling the sting of #oscarssowhite.
-It was strange seeing Glenn Close being basically the oldest Hollywood person there. Or at least the person with the longest career. Seems like just about every super famous person there were people who achieved their fame in the last 10 years or so. There was no Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Steven Spielberg etc. It was a new Hollywood kind of night.
-Roma is my second favourite movie of 2018, so I was glad to see all the love it got, although my heart sank a bit when it won Best Foreign Film because I knew that mean't BP was out of the question. But seeing Cuaron clean up was great.
-Spike looked pretty disappointed when he didn't get Best Director, but at least he is an Oscar winner now.
- I really wish Tina and Amy would have hosted. They are hands down my favourite award show host of the past 15 years. Although Ricky Gervais and Seth Meyers were pretty good too. The Golden Globes have been kicking the Academy's ass in that regard. I can't remember the last time an Academy host didn't completely drop the ball.
-Awkward as it was I'm glad Bryan Singer was not only shut out of nominations, but shut out of acceptance speeches as well.
- The highlight of the show for me was the Queen opening. Although as fine a job as Lambert does fronting Queen it would have been awesome to see Marc Martel get the nod for once, especially considering he sang in the damn movie.
-Guillermo Del Toro needs to have a literal heart to heart conversation with Kevin Smith. Dude looked scary fat. He could barely walk on his way out. If his next movie is a tough shoot, I honestly fear for his life.

This happened with Tom Hanks in the 90's where almost every movie he did got nominated and now he can't get a nomination or maybe the movies he has chosen are not Oscar worthy anymore.

I wish SZA did All the Stars from Black Panther.
That was the only song nominated that was not performed on the show. I heard Kendrick Lamar was in Europe and could not do the show.

Anyone who edits knows making a change takes only an hour or two. The excuse that Donen died so recently is ludicrous.
