I'm REALLY hoping this a tight, more intimate Halloween movie like the original. That would be nice. It somewhat looks like it's going to be.
If you hated the first movie ('78) for being a "boring slasher" then you just didn't get the flick. it was designed to be slow moving and not have a lot of gore and it was full of originality.
Also, a bit off topic, I have the great, newly released 4K version of the flick and watched the 78 TV version for the first time - I really wish they would have left all of those scenes in.
Really off topic but Halloween movie nerds like me will love this if they never knew - in the made for TV version scenes, the footage shot in Laurie's house downstairs is the same house the first nightmare on elm street was filmed in, I believe the wooden horse is seen in both movies in the same spot as well.
When Annie is calling from her house during that scene, she's actually just upstairs in Nancy's room (from the first nightmare on elm street).

Tickets are on sale for this. I went ahead and got a seat for Thursday the 13th. My showing is about 50% full. I saw the 1st 2 in the theater opening night and I will see it again in the theater.
Hoping it doesn't suck.

I'm trying to avoid too many previews or trailers. Do we know how far past Kills this is? Does it pick right up after its ending?

That puts Myers in his mid 60's? No need to kill him at this point, just steal his arthritis meds.

Saw the original film tonight at my local theater. Kinda cool to see it on the big screen but I think the projector bulb was dying because the screen was flickering a bit (more noticeable in the daylight scenes) so that was a bit distracting.
There was a trailer for Halloween Ends and while I don’t really expect much given my feelings on the other two David Gordon Green films I am kind of excited to see it.

Will we have a review thread for Halloween Ends? Also when will reviews begin to emerge? I haven't decided if I'll see Ends this weekend or wait until Halloween but I'm curious to read non spoiler reviews.

Despite the mixed feelings I've had with these it's been really cool having them come out for Halloween over the past few years. Part of me wishes it would keep going.

I just saw that Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie's Laurie Strode) and Danielle Harris attended the premiere, along with Heather Langenkamp and Amanda Wyss from A Nightmare on Elm Street. As a horror nerd, it's cool seeing these women together - especially since this was the first time Danielle got to meet Jamie Lee:

^ Apparently Danielle did not have a good experience meeting Jamie Lee. She and Scout have a podcast called Talk Scary To Me where they go over it.

She had probably anticipated that moment for decades. It does suck to be disillusioned by someone you're a fan of. Ironically, I can say the same about both Danielle and Scout. I bought autographs from them at a horror con a decade ago and neither seemed to give a crap about being there. There was no line, but Scout was too busy tweeting her boyfriend at the time (the dreadlocks guy from Glee). She barely put her phone down long enough to sign my poster.
Danielle showed up an hour late and seemed to be in a bad mood. She'd been charging $20 to sign something the day before, but her boyfriend tore off a piece of cardboard and scribbled "AUTOGRAPHS - $30" on it with a sharpie as I approached her table. That was lame. Wish I'd saved that $30, especially since she used a dried up marker on my poster. She noticed this while writing the dedication, but continued signing - so the autograph is barely visible.
Even lamer was when I asked if she would mind taking a quick photo with my mom (who I brought along because she loves Halloween 4). Danielle paused, gave us both the side eye and flatly said "Fine". She clearly felt imposed by the request and likely wanted more cash. I snapped the photo and she immediately turned her back to both of us and started talking to her boyfriend like we weren't even standing there. Definitely one of my worst (and shortest) convention encounters. I don't think my mom has felt like rewatching Halloween 4 since.
Thankfully, we also met Nancy Loomis and Charles Cyphers from the original film the same day and they could not have been nicer.

Can't imagine why attractive young actresses would hate doing conventions...

Eh, it doesn't surprise me in the least. She comes across as pretentious in interviews and has acted that way for years. It's not a shock that she would dismiss anyone from "those other" Halloween movies she wasn't involved in.
Curtis only sings the praises of the Halloween fan base when she's getting a pay day or earning money for charity, but clearly has little regard for the target audience. She's been known to say stuff like "I don't watch horror movies. I have a life. I have a family." Insufferable. She's well aware that if it wasn't for Halloween (or her famous parents) people probably wouldn't know her name.

I’ve heard Jamie Lee Curtis is a bit of a bitch at times and her behavior isn’t surprising. On the other hand though I wouldn’t be surprised if she hasn’t seen the films that Danielle Harris and Scout Taylor-Compton were in and legitimately didn’t know who they were.
I get Danielle and Scout being put off to a degree but also neither are the hugest names in Hollywood and for all we know Jamie was just super confused as to who they were.
