Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.”

So is the weird twist in this that Michael isn’t going to be in most of the movie and there will be a new/copycat killer?
If you believe the leaks from test screenings:
Spoiler:
Yes. They are working together.

And yet these movies are miles above most of the original sequels. Kills wasn't as good as the first one in this trilogy. but they are definitely sticking to an overall storyline, which I've really liked so far. I'm sure this last one will deliver. Deliver big time? Doubtful, but it'll be a fun ride to see at least once. I'm looking forward to seeing this last one.

Not sure how I feel about that if true. I can see why a lot of people are saying it might be divisive.

That sounds absolutely horrible. And why is it that Michael Myers can kill everyone with ease except for Laurie?

Glad this last one is almost here so we can get somebody (ANYBODY) else making Halloween movies.

Because Laurie is the final girl?

Be careful out there on Youtubeland -- you've got shitheads posting click bait videos spitballing plot points that may or may not have been taken from the test screenings but labeling the thumbnail as fact.

I mean, I’ve been “fooled” since Halloween IV in 1988. At this point I have no one to blame but myself.

Luckily I didn't grow up watching Halloween (not even sure when i saw the first one and H20 is the only one I think I saw in theaters, mainly because at that point I could pay for my own ticket for an R-rated movie).

Halloween Ends will be day and date on Peacock. This isn’t about the pandemic anymore. This is Universal wanting people to sign up for Peacock.

Re: Halloween Kills (2021) / Halloween Ends (2022) - D: Green

I'm not clicking on any spoilers. Even if this film is half-assed like the others, I'm still excited for it.

I just watched Halloween II (81) last weekend and I can't believe it's right up there with the original. I really love that film and that was the first time watching it many, many, moons - probably since I was a very little kid.

Never knew it was Ben Tramer that got sandwiched by the cars as well.

Also never knew Carpenter got sued for that film for trying to back out - even though he didn't direct it at as a whole, he did direct two scenes he got called for to make the film a little "meaner".

Forgot all about the "Samhain" stuff which they expanded on in part six as well. Even with the first sequel they were trying to show he was supernatural (aside from Loomis' "Evil" rants).

Man this flick brought back some crazy memories. How great it was to be a young kid back then with these flicks. I got the newly released 4K version of the film, they include the television cut of the film in regular format as well.

I’ll likely just watch it on Peacock. Haven’t cared for the other two very much but I might as well finish the trilogy.

Re: Halloween Kills (2021) / Halloween Ends (2022) - D: Green

I didn't get why so many people thought the new Halloween was any good, the movie was beyond stupid, but in at least watchable. I saw Halloween Kills yesterday, what a trainwreck. That was such a bad movie I couldn't believe it. No structure thus all over the place a totally weird cast of characters. By the end of the movie I did just say to my wife, at least Carpenter's theme still holds up.
I feel bad for my opinion about the Rob Zombie movies now, I thought they were garbage, but man this was a waste of time.

Re: Halloween Kills (2021) / Halloween Ends (2022) - D: Green

I don't buy the "official reason" that video with Curtis saying that they thought it did great in theaters and Peacock and they wanted to do it again. Remember they released Kills at Cannes and the reviews were a disaster and shortly afterwards they did the day and date thing.

I'm guessing the test screenings for this were probably bad or disappointing. And some of the suits at Universal probably saw it and thought it wasn't good enough and since Blumhouse made it, they could afford to do the day and date thing again. And Peacock is hurting for subscribers. Last I heard they were stuck at about 13M?

Re: Halloween Kills (2021) / Halloween Ends (2022) - D: Green

So, I'm concerned now because I'm hearing rumors that they'll be tying the events

Spoiler:
in part 3 to ends. I just re-watched part 3 last night - it has a huge cult following and people love it....I was shocked by how shitty it was. I couldn't stand it and I was watching it from a non-halloween movie perspective.

While the samhain stuff was talked about briefly in 3, it was mainly shown in halloween 2 (1981) and very much so in halloween 6. Let's not forget they showed the silver shamrock masks in halloween kills as well.

I hope what I'm hearing isn't true. I tried to avoid spoilers but when.your a horror movie fan and follow a bunch of horror movie stuff....sometimes it's unavoidable.

Re: Halloween Kills (2021) / Halloween Ends (2022) - D: Green

I'd love to see it go to some unexpected batshit direction for the final movie like have Laurie run off the studio lot with Michael hailing a cab chasing her to a red carpet screening of a theater showing the original Halloween. Full Blazing Saddles crazy. Or they wander onto the launchpad of the Artemis rocket and end up in space because unlike Pinhead, Jason or Leprechaun, Michael Myers still hasn't gone to space.

Spoiler:
I think Season of the Witch is one of the better movies in the franchise, but I don’t know how they would tie it to the storyline of the original film and the new trilogy. I mean I’m sure there are ways to do it but it would be a stretch.

There's currently a promotion for Peacock, $1.99 for the month of September (code SEPTEMBER) or $19.99 for 12 months ( code ONEYEAR). This is for Premium, not Premium Plus, but it's a good enough deal for me to get access to this movie and more.
