re: Halloween Kills (2021) / Halloween Ends (2022) - D: Green

79% on Rotten Tomatoes and $255M in the box office, the highest grossing Halloween movie ever. Yeah it totally bombed and was a steaming pile of crap.

Previous 2 movies were 27 and 21%

If you didn't like it then fine, but you're in the minority. It was a huge hit.

The last 2 movies killed the franchise. Green, McBride, Jason Blumhouse and JL Curtis saved it.

Some franchises are eternal and will never truly end...this is one of them.

So everyone saying they wish it would end are delusional if they think that is remotely an option. Either sit back and enjoy a new Halloween movie or just don't watch them anymore. But it will never end...

They should introduce time travel and set Halloween Ends in the old west.

Honestly this is where the Predator franchise should be right now.

I would be perfectly fine if they continuously made Halloween movies in trilogies. Make a solid Halloween trilogy now and then when they want to make another Halloween film, make it a trilogy as well. Michael Myers would still exist eternally but it wouldn’t be an endless series of shitty movies ruining the continuity of the previous films.

I mean, I’m sure I’ll see both in theater. Quite enjoyed first, but I’m a little skeptical. But in Green I do trust...

I like this idea but with each new trilogy it would have to start by showing him kill his sister. It would be the horror version of Thomas and Martha Wayne being shot.

I’ll believe the title Halloween Ends when there aren’t more films announced afterwards. Skeptical on believing that Blum isn’t going to try for more.

re: Halloween Kills (2021) / Halloween Ends (2022) - D: Green

With this, Jamie Lee will join the 6-decade club of playing the same character in a film in 6 different decades.

Halloween (1978)
Halloween II (1981)
Halloween H20 (1998)
Halloween Resurrection (2002)
Halloween (2018)
Halloween Kills (2020)
Halloween Ends (2021)

The only others I know of that are close are the 5-decade club of Sylvester Stallone as Rocky (1976), II (1978), III (1982), IV (1985), V (1990), Rocky Balboa (2006), Creed (2015), and Creed II (2018), and Leonard Nimoy as Spock in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1978), II (1982), III (1984), IV (1986), V (1989), VI (1991), Star Trek (2009), and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013).

Of course, Nimoy gets bonus points for playing Spock on TV in the 60s...

That's a great piece of trivia. I'm also curious as to how many franchises have had a sequel with the same name as the original. So far I can think of only one other instance - Shaft (1971), Shaft (2000), and Shaft (2019).

Many of us are looking forward to new Halloween movies. However, I didn't find the last one to be amazing or a complete revitalization of the franchise. I did find it entertaining but at the same time quite contrived. Dumb would be having someone hold out the mask that the killer wore while standing just a few feet away. Yeah, that is dumb.

That's exactly what shock journalists would do. They are trying to provoke Michael for their project. It's a metaphor for the relationship between the media and mass murderers, a chicken and the egg situation. Once the media makes killers a household name it will inevitably inspire more killings. That was the entire point of those characters.

I didn't take either of those two as shock journalists but rather dipshit interviewers out to make a buck on a story.

You're 100% right. I need to accept that and move on. But oh what a great freedom to know I won't spent another buck on anything Halloween. I have saved so much. I stopped giving bucks to Halloween which the last draw was Halloween 5 DVD. Since then not a single buck given.

Adios Halloween!

So you came here to post Halloween jokes for a franchise you haven’t cared about in 30 years? Ok great.
