DGG should be on the diverse list. he has some wildly different. comedy (Pineapple Express), drama (Snow Angels) (one of my all-time favs), others, horror (Halloween). pretty diverse i would say. sometimes i am surprised when he directs something i had no idea he directed...

Only a rumor and a crazy one. Halloween 2 and 3 will shoot back to back and could both premiere October 2020.

Wildly ambitious, if true, but no studio would be dumb enough to cut into a film's profits with its own sequel a mere 2 or 3 weeks later.

I can believe they'd film 2.2 and 3.1 back-to-back, but I don't think they would release them a couple of weeks apart. They would eat into each others; profits.
IF they did that, then that's a huge paradigm shift in the way Hollywood works. And if it did work, it has huge implications for the way film releases would work going forward.

Blumhouse has always been on the cusp with their business models. It would be very interesting indeed.

I dont think people who havent seen the second one would go to the third one instead of the second one, so it might not eat into the profits...
Being one long shoot would probably be cheaper too as opposed to two separate productions.....so even if each makes not as much due to close release dates, as a whole they will both be a big return on investment.

I have a feeling Blumhouse is going to run this series into the ground faster than Universal/Dimension and whoever else had the rights to it at one point combined. There was that quote from Blum on the last page about ten sequels, which while an exaggeration most likely if we’re potentially getting two close together (even separated by a year or whatever) could come to fruition pretty fast.

If they don’t release them close together, then next best option would be a year apart in Oct.

Kill off Michael in the next one, then make a third one without the Shape in it, but call it Halloween 3 anyway. It will bomb and stupid people will be confused, but years later it will be a classic.

I probably still won’t care for it but will get the catchy little jingle from the movie stuck in my head for days.

So Halloween 3 will be called Halloween 2, and Halloween 4 will be called Halloween 3?

It's cool that Blumhouse is bringing back Green and McBride to co-write the final 2 movies. And Green directing both.

Pretty good news all around. Glad to see my buddy Ryan Turek is overseeing both productions, too. They're in good hands.
