That is correct. There's a bit in the Netflix documentary The Bill Murray Stories where the director calls it, leaves an embarrassing message a la Swingers, and keeps discarding it before finally leaving one.

I don’t know if he still doesn’t have any representation other than a lawyer who handles some of the types of requests that an agent or publicist would. I had read about a fax machine where people had to send pages.
The 800 number changed a few times and at one point changed back to what it was before. I don’t know if he forgot to renew it or pay the bill or something or did it as a joke, but for a while his number was going to a sex line instead.
I was able to use the 800 number to get an interview with him in 2003. I called it, heard nothing for two weeks, called it again, and then he called me back a little while later. I was able to get in touch with him through that number a few times after as well. I got the impression that he’d listen to it every now and then when stuck at an airport or something like that.

I have tickets for the Ghostbusters event, but not sure if I want to attend without looking at what's on the program schedule.

In an article about Sigourney:
https://parade.com/888940/maramovies...er-highlights/
She’s also set to reunite with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the new Ghostbusters, due July 2020. “It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again!” she says. She won’t reveal any details except to confirm she’s reprising her role as hauntee Dana Barrett.

I hope Ernie Hudson is included as well. In other Ghostbusters news, the Elmer Bernstein score soundtrack has been rereleased on CD, digital platforms and the vinyl will be available in July.

Accompanied by his father Ivan Reitman, filmmaker Jason Reitman revealed alternate takes, outtakes and other never-before-seen, lost Ghostbusters footage from the original production dailies. The original film footage was apparently sitting in a mine in Kansas, but they tracked it down and cut together some of the best bits to reveal at Ghostbusters Fan Fest. Plus, an off-the-cuff remark from Jason Reitman indicated that this unearthed new footage was serving another mysterious purpose.
“In making this movie, we found something kind of extraordinary. We went to Sony, and we said, ‘We’d really love to get back into the original dailies from 1984. Do you still have them?’ And we found them. They were in a mine in Kansas, and we shipped the boxes to Burbank. And we’ve been going through the footage for reasons I cannot tell you, but along the way we found some really cool stuff.”

Yeah, lots of film is stored in an underground mine on the Kansas side. Temperature is cool and constant. The largest mine is over by where I used to live on the Missouri side.
I would guess it was this mine, Stradica, where a lot of archives are stored.

Glad I never bought either movie on 4K. Can now get rid of my old Ghostbusters Blu-rays (still keeping my DVD release with the MST3K style commentary).

That's great. He's someone I always would've like to have been involved if they were to "reboot" it or whatever. I saw Rudd do Reitman's live read of The Apartment a few years back and always hoped they'd sync up for a film.

Dan Aykroyd Confirms He Will Appear in 'Ghostbusters 2020'
SEPTEMBER 16, 2019 1:16PM by Ryan Parker
Jason Reitman is directing the film, which continues the story established by his father Ivan Reitman in the 1980s series.
It is official: Dan Aykroyd will appear in the upcoming Ghostbusters 2020. It was assumed he would once again play his classic character, Ray Stantz, since he has been talking about (and kind of spoiled the announcement of) the Sony film since its development, but he never said for sure he would be back. That is, until now.
“I’m not in the pictures so much anymore. We’ve got the Ghostbusters movie that we’re working on now and I will have to be performing in that,” Aykroyd said during an interview on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. “Ivan Reitman’s son Jason has written a new movie called, well, it’s gonna be Ghostbusters, the third movie. It will be all, most of the original people and then young stars."
Ivan Reitman directed both Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989). His son developed, and is currently directing, a new story in which it appears the old guard meets a younger generation of Ghostbusters.
Paul Rudd and Finn Wolfhard are set to appear in the film. Sigourney Weaver has said she will appear in the film, and Aykroyd told Rogan he hoped Bill Murray would also come aboard.
The characters from the 2016 all-female led Ghostbusters reboot will not be a part of this new film, which will take place after the events of Ghostbusters II, the younger Reitman previously said.
Aykroyd told Rogan he thought the 2016 reboot was a good film, but there were just aspects that did not work.
“Those girls were superb,” Aykroyd said, referring to stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. “But, I should’ve been sitting there as a producer watching costs a little bit more.”
Ghostbusters 2020 is due in theaters July 10, 2020.

I was under the assumption that this is more of a direct sequel that fans wanted and that all three remaining Ghostbusters (and maybe Sigourney too) would be in the film. Confirmed or not it doesn't seem like much of a spoiler to me.

He was on Rogan for two and a half hours, the Ghostbusters talk was maybe 40 seconds worth probably 125 minutes in.
That was a really interesting interview. Aykroyd even had me respecting his views on UFOs and psychics as they sounded a lot more thoughtful then I previously thought... but then he blew it by saying he believed John Edwards could really talk to the dead, and when Rogan asked about similar guys who had been busted as fakes, Aykroyd's response was, "Well, sometimes they lose their powers."
