The President of Columbia Pictures was asked about Apatow early last month:

"It's not true," says Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures. "We have some great new writers working on a new script, but Judd isn't involved. Judging from the frenzy on the Internet, there still seems to be plenty of interest in the idea of doing another film, so we're certainly taking that as a good sign."

That's so 20 years ago. Now it would be like looking at a tattoo 20 years after it was done.

Even then I never thought she was like a Hollywood bombshell. I never found her attractive. Meh.

Regardless of what the character is like, I think you'd have a hard time arguing that Sigourney Weaver doesn't bring something out in Bill Murray, which is what I want to see.

On Bill Murray holding up production:

"I don't put not making the third movie on Billy. We can't do that. I've been very busy. Harold's been busy, Ivan's been busy. And a third script really didn't coalesce properly. And Billy, you can't blame an artist for not wanting to do the same thing again. He did two of them, for God's sake. Although I'm the biggest cheerleader as the originator of the concept but I've never begrudged Billy not doing a third movie. I never said he held it up or that he refused. Hey, listen, he's an artist. You can't force somebody into it. I'm sorry he never read my third draft because I thought it was pretty good but, look, now we're at a point that there's a story that he can accept and that's going to work, and I think we're going to be in production fairly soon. We could be in production by winter."
And....

Who does Aykroyd think would be good in the jumpsuits? Aykroyd mentioned two names, Alyssa Milano (who is a voice in the upcoming "Ghostbusters" video game) and Eliza Dushku. "I think they're amazing," he said. "And I'm excited about the whole idea of getting this done."

There went Sony's release goal of Summer 2010.

Why would a movie shooting in winter 2009 not be able to come out in summer 2010?

Eliza Dushku on Twitter:

Ahh, just saw the article, Danny A's genius! There are so many ways I'd 'suit' up. GB's IS hot :)

Please, no. I've never thought Doucheku was that hot and Milano is a DTV actress at best. I don't want to see either one of them near this series.

I haven't been keeping up with this new movie but I like both those choices.

I can't say I'm a fan of Dushku, but I think she could work in GB.

I'm fine with Dushku in anything, or nothing. preferably nothing, if you know what I'm saying. *wink* *wink*

I love Dushku to death. She's one of my favorites. I wouldn't want to see her in a busting capacity, though. Maybe as a love interest to Jason Segal or something (if the Apatow crew are still being thrown around).

I wouldn't mind seeing Dushku get her bust on.

I'm pretty sure that my being able to clearly picture Eliza Dushku in a Ghostbusters jumpsuit, aiming her particle thrower in the air, looking around with big, moody eyes that are overcoated with black eyeliner, with her mouth slightly open, and her eyebrows turned down as she whips her head from side to side and her long dark locks of hair bounce around as she "concentrates" on finding the ghosts is a sign that her acting is predictable and crappy. No thank you.

I liked that. I'm not in a rush for a Ghostbusters 3, he's right. As much as I'd love to see one...it has to be done right. You can't taint the franchise (though I was never too big a fan of 2) with a crap followup. I also welcome some old school effects too.

I also hope they incorporate miniature and puppetry effect techniques into this movie. You still just can't get that sense of realism with CGI.

Of course this is presuming that this movie will ever get made, which I think it won't.

I could sort of see Dushku as a GB but not Milano.
