I'd nix Jason Bateman as much as I like him. I see him more in the authoritarian role. And remember there's probably gonna ge a female Ghostbuster.

Zach Galifinakis
Jason Segel
Danny McBride

would be three I'd like to see together.

 to Zach Galifianakis being mentioned, don't see that name being thrown around very often. I'm a HUGE fan of his comedy, in fact, he's my favorite stand up comic there is. Great crowd interaction, and while he has some famous one-liners that he probably uses at every show, he varies his routine a lot. It's always different, and he's not afraid to try new stuff. Love his beard as well, he's the one comic I laugh at just looking at his face.

As I said in the BD thread, since Ramis doesn't mention Moranis specifically, I wouldn't hold my breath. That sounds like something that may have been assumed on the part of the writer, not stated by Ramis.

Yeah...I mean, can you imagine these guys in a remake of the original? If you can't, and I can't, then they're not qualified.

Who's nobody? It's not the first one, but it's still one of my favorite movies.

I liked it. Objectively, it's not very good, but it's a fun movie.

The majority of it is pretty good. The cast still has a good repertoire with one another. The third act is where it kind of collapses, and the last bit before the credits start is atrocious.

I hope when it arrives on Blu there are deleted scenes. I always wanted to see that scene where Ray crashes the car, because it sounds dark and interesting.

You meant rapport? :)

I haven't seen the movie in approximately 6 or 7 years. I look forward to checking it out again when it arrives on BD-- eventually.

I really don't remember the plot of GB 2 but I remember the statue of Liberty walking and they controled it with a Nintendo joystick. WTF?

Of course they have nothing to do with the Ghostbusters franchise because they'd be playing NEW characters which, like it or not, the creative team in charge of the sequel said there would be.

Given the way things are now, someone will have to play the new Ghostbusters. If you think you can do better, let's see your list.

The original actors are qualified to play the original characters which they will be doing. Again, the new actors will be playing new characters. They don't need to look like or do impersonations of the originals.

Cute. Still taking into account the age of the characters, you really think they wouldn't have brought on additional staff after all these years to lighten the load.

Assuming, of course, the Ghostbusters are still in business at the beginning of the film. They may have no staff at all.

I could have been clearer. While I don't need them to be identical, I do want the new film to have the same low-key comedic vibe as the first film. The easiest way to judge whether actors could have a similar vibe as the original group is to imagine them in the scenarios presented by the original, and none of the actors on your list seem "right" to me.

Then they'll have to hire one and we'll get an 80's training montage.

Fair enough, although I'd argue that the actors I listed are professionals whose comedic range includes low-key.
