His stunts mean nothing until he does this stunt.

I'm sure people would rush out to the movie in which Tom Cruise died on the last day of production.

Unless they're starting with F/X heavy scenes so that can get started sooner.

I’m pretty sure that is exactly what they are doing. They come up with stunts first and build the movies around them.

Ghost Protocol completely felt like that. Three action sequences with a thin plot threading them together.

I meant more along the lines of starting visual effects sooner during production instead of post production to get the movie in the can quicker.

And, lest we forget the last Mission Impossible movie (whatever the name of it was), it's always a good idea to film Cruise's stunts first just in case he gets injured and the production schedule has to shift for his recovery.

At least they aren't shooting it like the first MI with the horrendous green screen during the finale in the English Tunnel.

Tom Cruise going on a screaming tirade at crew members violating COVID protocols. The audio is in the link. He says he will fire anyone who he sees violating it. He is producer, so he can do it.

wow. This was an intense listen. Imagine being there to hear it on set. Whoever leaked this recording probably lost his job as well.

Damn. That’s some straight up Les Grossman. I’m surprised I didn’t hear him say take a big step back and literally fuck your own face!!!

Hey, someone’s got to be a leader.

While obviously I don't know that particulars beyond what is in the article, I have no issue with what he said. If it had reached that point it probably needed to be said and by him.

Gotta agree. I’ve got no problem with what he said. I imagine Cruise is probably under a lot of stress with Multiple millions of dollars on the line, not just for M:I 7 but other projects currently being worked on.

It’s certainly more critical than say, Christian Bale losing his shit on a guy for taking him out of character...

I was actually hesitant to listen to that because I didn’t want it to put a bad taste in my mouth but I think I like Cruise more now.

Yeah, for all the reasons mentioned, completely different set of circumstances... didn't feel out of line at all. Still funny to us from the outside... but that crew got the benefit of a straight forward heads up, and that doesn't always happen. I do want to hear the uncensored version still, lol!

I'm interested to know who he's pointing out... because the person that runs the set is the director. And what's funny, is this is coming from a guy that makes the safety people pull their hair out and insurance company's butt pucker because he's doing his own stunts.

Good for Cruise. He is a nutbag but he takes his job seriously and I appreciate the hell out of that.

Honestly, listening to his rant is kind of cathartic. It’s exactly what we’ve all wanted to scream at people for the last year.

He's on it. Shit, he even paid almost a million dollars for ship so the crew could isolate and this is how they thank him by standing around close to each other in these times? He's right.

re: Mission: Impossible 7 (2022) — S: Cruise — W/D: McQuarrie

He may be a bit nutso, but i do admire and respect Cruise a lot. He has a great work ethic and even in his worst movies he seems to give 100%. As he has the dual tole of Producer as well, and arent they shooting 7 and 8 back to back, i would say he stress levels must be through the roof. What he said is just doing his job and trying to keep his work environment safe for everyone. Arsehole who recorded this was obviously looking for a quick pay day and try to put Cruise name through the dirt, but i think he comes out of it looking great. Its the kind of thing millions of ignorant people needed to hear this year as they dismissed rules and safety warnings. So i fully applaud his rant and look he gave these guys a scolding and didnt just fire their asses. A lot of people would have not said anything and just fired them. They should be grateful a Hollywood legend took his valuable time to try knocking some sense into them and help them keep their jobs and feed their families.

Tom Cruise is the reason why Mission: Impossible is a successful movie franchise and not currently airing on Friday nights on CBS.

re: Mission: Impossible 7 (2022) — S: Cruise — W/D: McQuarrie

I used to view Tom as a couch-jumping nutjob as well, but my view of him has turned around 180 degrees.

Tom knows what it's like to struggle.

Not just a struggling actor trying to make it, but growing up poor, moving from city to city. I remember seeing his interview on the Actor's Studio about his getting a paper route in order to put himself through school.

He knows the value of having a job. So, kudos to him and his fucking awesome work ethic. This movie could be the one that's the model for bringing movie production back from the pandemic.

I can imagine how stressful that has to be (having hundreds of millions of dollars on your shoulders), at least he should have no problem getting further investments since they know he's taking the protocols seriously

He’s the kind of guy who probably buys whoever he reamed out a gift after.

There's actually a story on Yahoo News about how Tom is keeping one particular Hollywood bakery open by buying all these expensive cakes (albeit to A-list friends of his), but in doing so, he's keeping that business afloat.
