Again, I'd hoped they'd do a soft reboot and relaunch this whole thing, but they are all in on the previous movie. Well, good luck with that...

Thatís my feeling as well.

The first one plays like it was made in the early 00ís before filmmakers learned how to make a good comic book movie. The second one doesnít look any different.

Why wouldn't they be all in? The first venom made more than 850 million worldwide. Sure, it was pre-pandemic, but this one will be hopefully be no different.

Looks okay. Pretty much more of the same from the first movie. I didnít mind the first, but Iíve only seen it the one time in the theater.

Definitely agree with this.

I thought the first film was alright and was disappointed with how they used the character of Riot. Rather than just make him a random villain, I was hoping he'd be introduced alongside the other 4 symbiotes created from the Venom symbiote (from Venom: Lethal Protector #4).

Even though fans who watch this film are already familiar with Carnage as a character, with the previous film in tow, it'll feel like just another film where a piece of the Venom Symbiote connects with another human and creates another CGI-mess.

At least Cletus Kasady's Ronald McDonald/Carrot Top hair is gone from this one.

Anyone else weirded out by the fact that Andy Serkis directed this? Not something I was expecting.

I wonder if they'll be doing a Spidey/Sinister Six (don't forget Morbius with the Vulture cameo) now that the other two Spidey's are going to be resurrected in No Way Home. I wonder if this ever-changing convoluted contract/control situation will ever resolve itself.

Not really, mainly because of his long experience with Motion Capture in film but also in various video games.

I can see why the studios felt like he would be a good choice, considering specific pieces of the film.

Wasn't Ruben Fleischer attached to this film as a Director at some point in time?

Pushed to January 2022 reportedly. No one else is reporting it yet. Sony just did their presentation last night at Cinemacon and they didn't mention anything about a change.

That's probably why they didn't show anything for it at Cinemacon. They'll announce after that it's delayed again.

Make sense to move with Oct as crowded as it is. Opening in Jan just after No Way Home might give them some more momentum as well. (maybe a post credit scene?)

It would have been competing against Bond, Halloween Kills and to some extent Dune. Not enough money and eyes.

Wondering if this means that Spider-Man: No Way Home will get pushed back too.

Yea theyíre not changing a reliably excellent movie from a December release date.

Venom on the other hand may or may not do much business. Gotta hustle it to make as much money as possible.

There is a blurb here from Variety that says Venom is staying in October.

Moving to October 1. Smart move. Too many releases on the 15th. I knew one had to jump.

Good move by Sony. October 1st is light too. Being that this is a pretty highly anticipated sequel, this should dominate that weekend. Hopefully tickets go on sale soon.

Venom fits more with October. But no R rating.

Got my ticket for Thursday the 30th.

Fandango says the running time is 90 minutes. That can’t be right.

Rotten Tomatoes says it's 2 hours but I have no idea where they get that info from.
