Pretty much my feelings as well.

It looks better than the first one but the first one didnít really work for me at all. Maybe now that I get what the filmmakers seem to be going for, Iíll be more receptive to it.

The effects still look pretty terrible. The shot of the Venom tentacle coming out of Hardyís back in the convenience store without leaving a tear on his jacket was noticeable. The tentacles in general looked like something from the early 2000s. Not particularly believable.

We'll see what Serkis is going for in this, which may be different from Fleischer directing the first. This trailer is kind of all over the place.

As for the tentacle, I think it's more lazy that Venom is the suit Eddie wears and becomes his clothes. I mean that's kind of the point originally, but still. It's a lazy way to portray it.

That was my next question. I really donít know anything about the character (Iím still fairly confused because I thought he was some sort of evil Spider-man or something) and I barely remember the details of the first movie but I was under the impression that Venom lived inside of Eddie. I donít recall there being talk Venom could manipulate himself to look like other things (a football jacket). I guess itís just supposed to be like the T-1000 on T2 that can mimic clothes too.

Originally, it was thought just to be a new costume from some machine for Spider-man after his suit got shredded during Secret Wars. When he returned back to Earth, did he realize it was a symbiote feeding his negative personality.

They somewhat touched on it in Raimi's Spider-Man 3.

I am looking forward to this as I also found the first to be surprisingly fun and entertaining to watch. The bit where the shop keeper says what are you going to do, stop protecting me, and Venom says he can eat her while Brock says no he is not going to do that and the shop keeper basically goes, wait...what? was pretty funny. I also love the bit where the trailer opens with Venom cooking breakfast and Brock being grossed out by the end result of Venom's culinary skills. Glad this series decided to go with a lighter touch rather than the film being an R rated gorefest that has folks torn apart by the symbiote.

I just watched the trailer. Not sure what to make of it. Looks very campy.

I know the theatrical market is getting better, but not quite there yet, but this should get a fair amount of interest and movie-goers in September. The first movie was a huge hit, so I have to think there will be interest in seeing this right away in the Fall.

I was hoping they'd change things up(almost a reboot of sorts) with this, but it looks like they're going with the same formula. (the first one did make 800m after all) I'm sure this will be better than the first, but these movies just aren't for me. Lol, good call on ditching that awful wig.

wow. That did look pretty good minus the Venom as a separate talking entity or whatever, but I love Hardy and especially Woody. The guy just picks choice roles that r high quality, sometimes high budget movies.

That looked fucking awful. About as awful as the first trailer looked. Which means if the sequel is as watchably bonkers awful as the first one, I'll watch it once, barely enjoy it for whatever it is, and never think about it again.

No actually for Harrelson, I do think there's a lot to sink his teeth into. Cletus Kassidy/Carnage is an insanely hammy character. I can see the appeal of just getting to go bugnuts for an actor.

To be fair, the first Venom film wasn't rated R. They're both PG-13 films.

Looks good. Was that Banshee? Or, um, an iteration of Banshee?

CGI looks terrible, and the comedy falls flat.

I wasn't a fan of the first one.

and these characters simply flail around pathetically if not grounded by Spiderman.

I think I still have some of the "Maximum Carnage" storyline comics from back in the day. Gonna go dig through some boxes to see if I can find them.
